Hello everyone! We are Cat and Harold from Kuala Lumpur. Welcome to our vlog, created to catalogue our memories, life’s events and travels.
Why “Have Perut Will Travel”? It’s a play on words from an old Western TV show called “Have Gun - Will Travel”, but we let our tummies lead the way ❣️

BKK Day 6 │ A Guided Tour • Pho & Arun Temples!
A Day Exploring Bangkok’s Iconic Landmarks
We picked you up again two hours into the guided tour as our guide, Pui, led us to the next iconic landmark.
Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha)
Wat Pho is one of Bangkok’s oldest and most significant temples, located near the Grand Palace. It is best known for its massive Reclining Buddha statue, which measures 46 meters long and 15 meters high, covered in gold leaf. The statue represents the Buddha entering Nirvana, a symbol of peace and enlightenment. Key features include:
Reclining Buddha: The temple’s centerpiece, with intricate mother-of-pearl inlays on the feet depicting auspicious symbols.
Largest Collection of Buddha Images: Wat Pho houses over 1,000 Buddha statues, making it a major spiritual site.
Traditional Thai Massage: Recognized as the birthplace of Thai massage, Wat Pho operates a famous massage school where visitors can experience authentic treatments.
Historic Learning Center: Once considered Thailand’s first public university, with inscriptions on medicine, yoga, and astrology.
The temple complex is serene, with beautiful courtyards, gardens, and ornate stupas. It offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s bustle and is a cultural treasure for those interested in Thai history and spirituality.
Entrance Fee: THB300 (≈ MYR39 / USD10 / EUR8)

Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)
Wat Arun is an iconic riverside temple located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Known as the Temple of Dawn, it is celebrated for its stunning beauty at sunrise and sunset when its porcelain-decorated spires shimmer in the light. Key features include:
Central Prang (Main Spire): A towering structure about 70–79 meters high, adorned with colorful porcelain and seashell mosaics.
Symbolism: Represents Mount Meru, the center of the universe in Buddhist cosmology, and embodies enlightenment.
Panoramic Views: Visitors can climb the steep steps of the prang for breathtaking views of the river and Bangkok skyline.
Architectural Style: Combines Khmer-style influence with intricate Thai artistry, making it one of Thailand’s most photographed landmarks.
