Hello everyone! We are Cat and Harold from Kuala Lumpur. Welcome to our vlog, created to catalogue our memories, life’s events and travels.
Why “Have Perut Will Travel”? It’s a play on words from an old Western TV show called “Have Gun - Will Travel”, but we let our tummies lead the way ❣️

BKK Day 1 │ First Ekkamai Stroll
First Massage in Bangkok – The Perfect Kick-Off!
Touchdown in Bangkok! After checking into Tierra Residences, we freshened up and hit the streets with one mission: find Thai-to-UK adapters for our apartment.
One of the perks of staying at Tierra? Their shuttle service to Gateway Ekkamai—running every half hour from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM (except Tuesdays). Lucky us, the 5:00 PM shuttle was waiting right as we reached the lobby.
Gateway Ekkamai: Errands & Eats
Five minutes later, we were at Gateway Ekkamai ticking off our list:
✅ 5 Thai-to-UK adapters – THB 393
✅ Fresh cut fruits – THB 125
✅ 2 steamed buns – THB 60
✅ Sweet cakes – THB 125
✅ French fries + Coca-Cola – THB 130
Total: THB 883 (≈ MYR 115 / USD 26 / EUR 24). Not bad for a quick spree!
By 5:30 PM, we hopped on the last shuttle back to Tierra, stashed our goodies, and set out again—this time for some serious TLC.
Mission: Massage!
Our first stop was Arokah Massage near PTT Station, Rama 4. Sadly, they were short on masseuses and asked us to return in an hour. No problem—we pivoted to Aurora Massage & Relaxation, and wow, what a find!
For 60 glorious minutes, seasoned hands worked their magic on our feet, back, and shoulders. The damage? Just THB 350 (≈ MYR 45 / USD 11 / EUR 10). Absolute steal for the rejuvenation we got!
Dinner Like Locals
Post-massage hunger hit hard, so we wandered back to PTT Station and straight to our favorite tiny Pad Thai stall: ครัวไทผัด (Thai Kitchen Pad). Simple menu, big flavors:
✅ Pad Thai with crispy pork
✅ Fried rice with minced pork & egg
✅ Omelette with minced pork on rice
✅ Fried rice with crispy pork & kale
✅ Spicy shrimp salad
✅ Apple soda & 2 Coca-Colas
All for THB 540 (≈ MYR 70 / USD 17 / EUR 15). Authentic, affordable, and bursting with flavor—the Pad Khra Pow was fiery perfection!
Final Stop: 7-Eleven
No Bangkok day is complete without a 7-Eleven run. We grabbed THB 467 (≈ MYR 60 / USD 14 / EUR 13) worth of snacks before strolling back to our Airbnb to unpack and unwind.
Day one verdict? A mix of errands, indulgence, and local eats—a perfect start to our Bangkok adventure. Stay tuned for the next adventure as we dive deeper into Bangkok and hunt for a Rabbit Card for Brendan!
