BKK Day 6 │ A Guided Tour • Grand Palace!

A Day Exploring Bangkok’s Iconic Landmarks

Bangkok is a city that never fails to impress with its rich history and vibrant culture. On this trip, we decided to do something different—a guided walking tour of three of the city’s most famous landmarks: Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun.

Starting the Journey

Our day began early at 7:00 AM, catching the 8:00 AM shuttle to Gateway Ekkamai. From there, we navigated to the Ekkamai BTS station and hopped on the train. Seven stops later, we arrived at Asok station, switched to the Sukhumvit MRT, and headed toward Sanam Chai station—the gateway to Bangkok’s historic district.

Breakfast Before the Adventure

Before meeting our guide, we stopped at ร้านไล่เอี่ยมง้วน ก๋วยเตี๋ยวหมูน้ำใสท่าเตียน for a hearty breakfast:

  • 3 bowls of Rice Vermicelli Aoup
  • 2 Iced Thai Black Tea
  • 1 Coca-Cola
  • Cost: THB200 (≈ MYR26 / USD6 / EUR5)
  • Grand Palace: Bangkok’s Crown Jewel

Our guide, Pui, led us to the Grand Palace, a stunning complex built in 1782 by King Rama I. Once the royal residence and administrative center, today it stands as a symbol of Thailand’s heritage.

Entrance Fee: THB500 (≈ MYR65 / USD16 / EUR14)
Highlights: Emerald Buddha, intricate architecture, and ceremonial halls
Time Spent: ~2 hours

Stay tuned for our next post as we continue with the guided tour to venerable temples!
