Hello everyone! We are Cat and Harold from Kuala Lumpur. Welcome to our vlog, created to catalogue our memories, life’s events and travels.
Why “Have Perut Will Travel”? It’s a play on words from an old Western TV show called “Have Gun - Will Travel”, but we let our tummies lead the way ❣️

AOR Day 5 │ Alor Setar to KLIA • FY1673 • Going Home!
We’re Coming Home!
We woke to another solid night’s sleep, a little earlier than usual — 6:45am. By 7:15am, we were already heading downstairs to Lengkuas Restaurant. With more time to spare, Cat wandered through the buffet spread at her own pace, picking out favourites one by one. A calm, gentle start to our final morning in Alor Setar.
Back to the Branch
By 8:00am, breakfast wrapped and we returned to the room. I changed into work clothes, kissed Cat goodbye, and headed down to the loaner car. Twenty minutes later, I arrived at the branch and began the day’s meetings right at 9:00am, easing into the familiar work rhythm.
Wrapping Up the Morning
At 11:00am, I wound down, packed up, and bid everyone farewell. I returned the loaner car keys to Yus, then grabbed a RM7.00 (≈ USD/EUR2) Grab back to the hotel. Most packing was already done, so after changing into civilian clothes and doing one final sweep of the room, we headed down to the lobby.
Heading to the Airport
Checkout was quick and painless. We hailed another Grab — RM11.00 (≈ USD3/EUR2) — and began the fifteen minute ride to the airport. The drive felt like a gentle fade out from the city: quiet roads, warm sunlight, and that pre travel calm settling in.
Sultan Abdul Halim Airport greeted us with its signature relaxed vibe. No frantic crowds, just soft chatter, slow footsteps, and the occasional announcement echoing through the hall. Firefly’s counters wouldn’t open until 12:55pm, so we settled into OldTown White Coffee for a light snack.
OldTown Break Before Check In
Still full from breakfast, we kept it simple:
Peanut Butter Toast
Garlic Bread
Iced Milk Tea
Iced Hazelnut Coffee
A comfortable pre flight bite for RM34.80 (≈ USD9/EUR7).
Check In and the Waiting Lounge
At 1:45pm, we returned to Firefly’s counters and checked in our grey goblins. After a quick security check, we entered the waiting lounge — a calm space filled with soft chatter and scattered travellers. We settled in front of Gate 3, waiting for FY1673, scheduled for 3:30pm.
Walking Toward the Prop Bird
At 3:15pm, boarding began. Stepping onto the open tarmac hit us with that instant rush — sun, wind, and our little Firefly prop bird waiting proudly ahead. The aircraft looked majestic up close, its twin props still and silent.
Climbing the rickety metal stairs added that rugged, retro charm. Each clatter underfoot reminded us: this wasn’t just boarding a flight — it was boarding an experience.
Propeller Magic in the Sky
Right on time at 3:30pm, the aircraft pushed back. Five minutes later, we were airborne. The raw vibration, the lower cruising altitude, the close up views — all the sensory rich magic that only a propeller plane can deliver.
Touchdown in Kuala Lumpur
We landed exactly at 4:35pm. Inside the terminal, the baggage hall buzzed with travellers crowding around Carousel C — kids tugging at parents, people swapping flight stories, and the rhythmic clatter of luggage hitting the belt. Our grey goblins appeared soon enough.
After a quick potty break, we headed out and hailed one final Grab — RM29.00 (≈ USD7/EUR6) — back home.
Final Scene — Phuket Awaits
We reached home buzzing with exhilaration. Our turnaround time? Less than 24 hours. Just enough to unpack, reset, and breathe before we’re off again.
Next stop: Phuket, as we celebrate Brendan’s birthday.
