My Asia 1 Cafe (defunct)

My Asia 1 Cafe (defunct)
Jalan Dang Wangi
50100 Kuala Lumpur

This is the cafe that replaced Pak Li (now defunct) (along Jalan Dang Wangi).

Everything was fine and dandy
Until we got the bill!

The problem is, this (and its predessesor, Pak Li) kopitiam depends on lunchtime traffic from surrounding offices to survive. Its has little to no patrons at night, and is virtually empty during the weekends.

With a Mamak shop next door, Pak Li used to price itself accordingly and competitively.

The same could not be said about My Asia 1 Cafe. I had a mild heart palpitation when presented with the bill! 3 drinks , french fries and a set of roti bakar set us back by RM30+ at this new 1 Asia Cafe, so watch out!

*Footnote: As of February 2011, this kopitiam has gone in the way of its predessesor (Pak Li). It was not open for business since the end of January 2011.

Weekend With Me Sisters

A week later and my sisters and I hooked up again. This time we had lunch at a typical Mamak restaurant in Hartamas (can't remember the name).

Let's dig in

Pale looking nasi beriani, but heck, it was good

Feeding frenzy

Unconsciously everyone had their hands over their belly

After the frenzy

Weekend With Me Sisters

The following day was spent shopping with my sisters. While they shopped, we found the time a light snack at Oldtown White Coffee at Pavillion.

My caffeine fix
Brendan's soda fix

Lunch (or high tea coz it was getting pretty late in the afternoon)  was at GrandMama's (?) in Pavillion.

Quite the sumptious spread
We were quite worried we ordered too much

So much so that I can't remember what we ordered
Vince couldn't get enough of the feast that lay before him
And my sisters did not know where to start
Vince is still at it
Beneath that diminutive frame is a vociferous diner!

Forced Hiatus!

It would have been exactly seven months to the day since our last post.  A lot has happened since then, and without going into details ou...
