Leaving PENANG

We are going back to Kuala Lumpur!

Three glorious days went by in a flash, and we were already packing and getting ready to go.

We woke up at seven in the morning and headed out to a coffee shop nearby. Cat had a hankering for Koay Teow Th'ng and Kafe Evergreen was just the place for it. We both had the sample meal and together with drinks our breakfast came to RM17.20 (approximately USD/EUR4).

We then walked back to the hotel and finished packing. We checked out of the hotel at a quarter to nine, then hailed a Grab car to KOMTAR. The fare was RM7 (approximately USD/EUR2) and within five minutes we were at the Billion Star Express. Since we had an hour until boarding (10:15am) we walked around for a little bit then waited in the bus line's office. Our bus fare was RM33.50 each (approximately USD8/EUR7).

Our bus arrived at the appointed time, and it first headed to the Sungai Nibong Terminal Bus before heading across the Penang bridge to Penang Sentral in Butterworth.

We eventually left Butterworth at 12:00PM and enjoyed a comfortable ride until our first pitstop a couple of hours later somewhere near Parit Buntar, north of Taiping. It was here that we first learnt of the mechanical problems the bus driver faced with the bus.

It was nothing serious apart from the fact that he could not accelerate past 90 kilometres per hour! We were actually fine with the eventual delay it would cause since it meant the bus was incapable of speeding.

The bus resumed its journey south along the North South Expressway before making another pitstop in Behrang just north of Tanjung Malim.

We finally arrived in Kuala Lumpur at a quarter to five in the evening, and eventually reached KL Sentral. Our bus trip was delayed by two hours since we were supposed to arrive in KL Sentral at 3:00PM. No matter, so long as we arrived safely the two hours was not a huge loss to us.

We then walked over to the KFC to take away a pair of dinner plate sets and hailed a Grab car for RM17 (approximately USD/EUR4) which was a little expensive given that it was a Sunday evening.
We hope to make another trip to Penang really soon as there are so many other places that we want to visit.

Lastly, we feel that it is our civic duty to remind everyone that while masks are now optional outdoors, it is still mandatory indoors!

PENANG Walkabout 3 (Macalister and Back, SKS Garden Food Centre)

We're going on another walkabout!

This afternoon proved to be very productive since besides organising all the accumulated clips and footage I was even able to render a video about our ETS ride to Butterworth.

Evening came and we were itching for another walkabout. This time we had definite plans about where we wanted to go for dinner so we headed out of the hotel walking southwest along Jalan Transfer. Soon as we reached the end it started to pour so we beat a hasty retreat back back to the hotel.

We reemerged a little while later with a large umbrella and headed out along Jalan Hutton before turning right onto Jalan Penang. We continued on southwest along Jalan Penang and walked up onto the Octopus Pedestrian Crossing Bridge. We crossed over and continued still along Jalan Penang past what we think is the Ong Kongsi Temple before converging onto Jalan Macalister.

We then walked northwest for a fair distance before crossing over at Public Bank before doubling back along Jalan Macalister until we reached the New Lane Street Foodstalls. We checked out the various hawker stalls hoping to have dinner here but decided to pursue other alternatives.

We continued walking northwest along Jalan Macalister and briefly considered Yummy Cottage for dinner but decided to carry on along. We finally arrived at the old MS Food Court now known as Pinang Delicious Food Court only to find it closed.

We then crossed over to the other side of Jalan Macalister and walked in the opposite direction and settled for dinner at SKS Garden Food Centre. For a diminutive food court SKS Garden had a surprising large array of dishes, we had a quite enjoyable and very reasonably priced dinner.

After dinner we thought about catching a bus back to the hotel but decided to walk back instead. We resumed our walkabout headed back from where we came until we reached the Octopus Pedestrian Crossing Bridge. Here instead of continuing on along Jalan Penang we decided to take a different route walking northwest along Jalan Burma before turning right onto Jalan Transfer.

We were on the home stretch from here on end, and got back to the hotel in no time at all.

This would be our last night in Penang, and we will be returning home to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning. We will be making a video about our breakfast tomorrow morning as well as the bus ride back to Kuala Lumpur, so please stay tuned!

SKS GARDEN Food Centre

We were hungry!

After an evening spent on a walkabout from the hotel to Jalan Macalister we found ourselves here at SKS Garden Food Center. Compared to Red Garden two days ago SKS Garden can be considered diminutive by comparison. Despite its size we were pleasantly surprised to see quite a large selection of dishes to offer, and Cat immediately zoomed in to a stall that sold Prawn Noodles.

The variety here was amazing and we eventually settled on:

Prawn Noodles for RM6.50
Char Kueh Teow for also RM6.50
Selection of *Lor Bak for RM10.00
a small bottle of Tiger Beer and 2 glasses of Pat Poh Herbal Tea for RM14

*a unique Hokkien and Teochew dish widely found in South East Asia composed of various meats, vegetables and other ingredients usually served with chili sauce and sweet sauce.

Our typical Penang dinner came to RM37.00 (approximately USD/EUR8) which completely blew us away bearing in mind that a plate Lor Bak alone in Kuala Lumpur could sometimes come to the same sum. The competition among food courts here at Jalan Macalister is quite fierce but we dare say SKS Garden can hold its own.

PENANG Runaround 2 (Roti Canai Transfer Road, Chowrasta Market, Batu Feringghi, Nasi Padang Minang)

We are going to Tanjung Bungah!

Today we made plans to meet up with my cousin and visit her mother at a nursing home. The last of my father's 3 sisters, we made visiting my Aunt our main priority when we first planned our trip to Penang.

The morning began with breakfast across the road at Roti Canai Transfer Road. I had the Roti Canai Ayam for RM9.50 while Cat just wanted plain Roti Canai for RM2.50. In any case both our Roti Canai were swimming in a pool of gravy which Cat frankly was not a fan of. Together with a round of Teh Tarik our breakfast came to RM15 (approximately USD/EUR3), not a bad start to our morning.

We then made our way to Penang Road, walked across and turned into Jalan Chowrasta. Street vendors flanked both sides of the road making our morning walk very vibrant and lively indeed. We then came across a fruit stall where we purchased Mandarin oranges and peaches for our visit with my Aunty later.

We then headed back to the hotel since my tummy was rumbling very hard. Five relieving minutes later we headed out of the hotel and waited for the Rapid Penang bus 104. After waiting for about twenty minutes the bus arrived, and for the next hour or so we enjoyed our sightseeing session.

The Rapid Penang bus 104 took us in a generally northern direction cutting across Tanjung Tokong before arriving at Tanjung Bungah. The fare was RM2.70 each (approximately USD/EUR0.60).

We then hailed a Grabcar to the nursing home for a fare of RM7 (approximately USD/EUR2). We spent a good half an hour visiting with my Aunty accompanied by our cousin and ended the visit with prayers and good wishes all around.

My cousin then drove us to Batu Feringghi and bade farewell before making our way to our next destination, SAF Street Pasta. Alas, the stall that our favourite YouTuber Ken Abroad spoke so highly of was not open. Turned out it operates only in the evenings, so we resolved to come again in a future trip.

We then walked across Jalan Batu Ferringhi headed to the Hotel Golden Sands bus stop. After waiting for about ten minutes the Rapid Penang bus 101 arrived, and we again enjoyed a sightseeing session in the opposite direction back to town. The fare was RM2.70 each (approximately USD/EUR0.60) and the best part of all the bus dropped us off right in front of the hotel.

We decided to have lunch at Nasi Padang Minang located within Kedai Kopi International Hotel just two blocks from the hotel. We both had a plate of rice with various cuts of chicken and gravy plus other side dishes, together with a round of bottled water each the entire meal came to RM16 (approximately USD/EUR4).

We then headed back to the hotel and will be on yet another walkabout this evening, so stay tuned!

PENANG Walkabout 2 (Lebuh Campbell, Lebuh Farquhar, Warong Cafe)

We're still in the mood for a walkabout!

I spent the afternoon carefully sifting through the growing number of clips and footage we had accumulated since arriving in Penang while Cat busied herself with laundry.

A few hours later and we were again rearing to go on a walkabout. With nothing specific planned we headed out of the hotel but noticed that there was a slight drizzle so we put up our umbrellas.

We then walked southeast along Jalan Hutton to its end, then walked across Jalan Penang and then onto Lebuh Campbell.

We walked the almost the entire length of Lebuh Campbell before turning left onto Jalan Pintal Tali. We continued walking northwest to the end of Jalan Pintal Tali and then turned right onto Chulia Street. We took in the sights of the pubs and bars that lined the street before turning right onto Lebuh Carnarvon to check out a row of hawker stalls.

The drizzle and lack of seating dissuaded us from having dinner here so we doubled back onto Chulia Street and continued walking southwest. A little while later we reached an intersection and turned left onto Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling. We also noticed that the drizzle had subsided.

We then walked northwest to the very end of Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling past the St. George's Anglican Church before turning left onto Lebuh Farquhar. At the Church of the Assumption we turned left again onto Love Lane and continued on for a little while before turning right onto Muntri Street. We continued walking west and after a little while we turned left onto Leith Street.

All along the way we did not find any eatery that struck our fancy nor matched our desire for a light dinner. We continued west along Leith Street before walking across to Jalan Penang and noticed again that it had started to drizzle again. We then walked across the one and only pedestrian crossing at Jalan Penang that took us back to Jalan Hutton.

Here we chanced upon a very brightly light bungalow that housed Warong Cafe. Since it was just a stone's throw away from the hotel in the event of a heavy downpour we could always make a dash back, just in case.

The meal was adequate, and we then headed back to the hotel. We will be visiting with my auntie tomorrow morning and so we hoped for an early night.

WARONG Cafe

We were hungry!

After yet another evening spent on a walkabout to Chulia Street via Lebuh Campbell, Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling and back we failed to find a hawker stall or eatery that piqued our interest. The slight drizzle that began to develop did not help matters and we decided to try our luck at one of the eateries around the hotel.

After making our way back to Jalan Hutton we chanced upon a very brightly light bungalow that housed Warong Cafe. Since it was just a stone's throw away from the hotel in the event of a heavy downpour we could always make a dash back, just in case.

Looking for something light we settled on:

Spaghetti Ayam (Chicken) Butter Milk for RM12.90
Bihun (Rice Vermicelli) Sup Ayam for RM8.90
Carrot Juice with Milk for RM7.90
Coca Cola for RM3.90

Our noodled dinner came to a very reasonable RM33.60 (approximately USD8/EUR7), a meal that served its purpose. Nothing more, nothing less.

PENANG Hill Buggy Ride

We went on a buggy ride!

After a little time exploring the sights at Penang Hill Cat suggested we hire a buggy to do even more exploring. We joined the queue and when our turn came we hopped on gleefully.

For RM30 a buggy (approximately USD/EUR7) we were able to enjoy the sights, take some wefies at a pictureque lookout point while being kept thoroughly entertained by an excellent driver cum guide. An experience not to be missed, and highly recommended to all.

After the buggy ride we headed back to the funicular and down the hill. We then hailed a Grabcar to Pekan Ayer Itam for some Laksa so be sure to catch our previous video.

PENANG Hill

We are at Penang Hill!

We arriving at the Penang Hill Lower Station via the Rapid Penang 204 bus we walked over to the ticket counter and paid an admission fee of RM12 each (approximately USD/EUR3) to experience a fun ride aboard a funicular up to Penang Hill. However please take note that it will cost non-Malaysians RM30

We wandered about for a bit and walked up a flight of stairs to the Astaka Bukit Bendera to enjoy the view before deciding to take a buggy ride. For RM30 a buggy (approximately USD/EUR7) we were able to enjoy the sights, take some wefies at a pictureque lookout point while being kept thoroughly entertained by an excellent driver cum guide. An experience not to be missed, and highly recommended to all.

PENANG Runaround 1 (Tawfid Pawanchi, Penang Hill, Laksa Bisu, 126 Hui Ong Cafe, Maliia Bakery)

We are headed up Penang Hill!

We were supposed to walk up at six in the morning, but we rose half an hour later. After getting ready we headed out of the hotel room and headed to the Penang Road bus stop.

We caught a free Rapid Penang CAT bus at half past seven in the morning that took us to Komtar Bus Terminal. Here we had a quite simple breakfast of Nasi Lemak and Fried Beehoon with drinks for only RM4.70 (approximately USD/EUR1).

At eight in the morning we boarded the Rapid Penang 204 bus, and we thoroughly enjoyed an hour's drive along the streets of Georgetown for a fare of RM2.00 each (approximately USD/EUR0.50). We eventually arriving at the Penang Hill Lower Station and for a fee of RM12 each (approximately USD/EUR3) we got to experience a fun ride aboard a funicular up to Penang Hill.

Here we wandered about for a bit before we decided to take a buggy ride and explore the place. For RM30 a buggy (approximately USD/EUR7) we got to enjoy the sights and were kept entertained by an excellent driver cum guide. An experience not to be missed, and highly recommended to all.

After the buggy ride we headed back to the funicular and down the hill. We then hailed a Grabcar for RM5 (approximately USD/EUR1)to Pekan Ayer Itam with the intent of trying the Bisu *Laksa at the food court there.

*a spicy thick rice noodle dish consists with toppings of chicken, prawn or fish and prepared with a a sweet and sour fish-based soup

Another experience not to be missed, we then walked over to the bus stop nearby and caught a Rapid Penang 201 bus for a fare of RM2.70 each (approximately USD/EUR0.60). We spent another fun filled hour or so sightseeing as the bus took us from Air Itam through Rifle Range Flats and eventually back to KOMTAR.

At KOMTAR we stopped by a Maybank to replenish our 'Federal Reserves' and then walked back to the hotel. Since the laksa we head earlier had already been well digested we decided to have a late lunch at 126 Hui Ong Cafe which was right beside the hotel.

I quite enjoyed my Pork Omelette with Rice for RM7 (approximately USD/EUR2) while Cat enjoyed her Pad Kra Pao for RM8.50

We then walked over to Maliia Bakery to get some excellent and fluffy buns and headed back to the hotel. We will be on another walkabout this evening, so stay tuned!

PENANG Walkabout 1 (Famous Teochew Cendol, Komtar Walk, Billion Star Express, Red Garden)

We're in the mood for a walkabout!

After a restful nap we awoke late in the evening rearing to go on a walkabout. First order of the evening was to walk to Prangin Mall nearby to see if we could get our bus tickets reprinted at the Billion Star Express bus counter.

We walked out of the hotel and headed across Jalan Hutton then Jalan Transfer. We then walked southwest along Jalan Transfer before turning left onto Lebuh Dickens. We walked all the way to the end and then turned right onto Jalan Penang. KOMTAR was in sight!

Something caught our eye and we walked across Jalan Penang onto Lebuh Keng Kwee. We had arrived at the Penang Road Famous Teochew Cendol. The were no queues so we quickly ordered a serving of Cendol to go and continued along Lebuh Keng Kwee to the very end before turning right onto Jalan Kuala Kangsar that eventually led us onto Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong. KOMTAR was right in front of us!

We then headed northwest along Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong and arrived at the pedestrian bridge that took us safely across the very busy street. We had arrived at KOMTAR!

We however did not know how to get to Prangin Mall but fortunately a very friendly security personnel pointed us in the right direction. We proceeded along Komtar Walk to its end before turning right onto Jalan Ria. We continued on and made it across at the pedestrian crossing to Prangin Mall.

We found the Billion Star Express bus counter but discovered the reprinting could only be done on the day of travel. Oh well, so much for that.

We doubled back along the same route and eventually made it across the very busy Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong and found ourselves back on Jalan Kuala Kangsar. We walked to its very end before turning right onto Lebuh Campbell. We continued southeast and turned left onto Lebuh Cintra.

We walked along Lebuh Cintra past Malabar Inn, a hotel that left us with a very bad memory. Early one morning as we slept in our room we were awoken by thick smoke, and so we quickly ran downstairs onto the road (thankfully it was just one floor).

Despite it being a serious fire the proprietor did not call the fire brigade which led us to suspect the hotel was not up to code since it had no back door and emergency staircase.

Oh well, we live and learn. At the end of Lebuh Cintra we turned right onto Chulia Street but doubled back since our destination was in the opposite direction. We walked northwest and eventually turned right onto Leith Street and had dinner at Red Garden Food Paradise. Here we met our a subscriber for the very first time, Kenny and his wife from Port Klang!

After dinner we headed back to the hotel but on the way met Kenny again at Laundry39. We spent a little time chit chatting and continued on but not before stopping by Mydin Jalan Penang. It was however closed.

We got back to the hotel and meant to have an early night since we hoped to get to Penang Hill bright and early tomorrow morning. Stay tuned!

RED GARDEN Food Paradise

We were hungry again!

After an evening spent on a walkabout to and from KOMTAR we found ourselves here at our favourite food court with a multitude of hawker stalls that should satisfy even the most demanding of palates. A clean food court with a small stage that provides various forms of entertainment you will be guaranteed some fun while you enjoy your meal.

We were mighty glad to see Red Garden emerging from the recent pandemic relatively unscathed and doing rip roaring business. After making several rounds inspecting the diverse types of cuisine on offer at the hawker stalls here we eventually settled on:

a small serving of Fried Oyster Omelette for RM15.00
*Char Kueh Teow with Duck Egg for RM9.00
Mushroom Pork Chop for RM18.00
a small bottle of Tiger Beer for RM10
Double Orange Juice for RM6.00
Iced Lemon Tea for RM3.00

^*a stir-fried Chinese-inspired rice noodle dish from Maritime Southeast Asia, in Hokkien Char means “stir-fried” while Kueh Teow refers to flat rice noodles

Our princely Penang dinner came to a very reasonable RM61.00 (approximately USD14/EUR13) given that we had oysters and beer. If you're looking for a lively place with plenty of fun and sometimes eclectic entertainment as you dine you will not need to look any further that Red Garden.

HUTTON CENTRAL Hotel

We are checked in!

This is a hotel that we had been eyeing on Booking.com for a while now. Located at the intersection of Hutton and Transfer this hotel is located within walking distance of all our favourite areas in Georgetown. Most times the price listed was quite steep, so we were in luck on this particular occasion since we managed to book a 3-night stay for only RM648 (approximately USD147/EUR142).

Its Facebook page described it as "a collection of newly refurbished heritage shophouses, consists of 8 cosy and spacious suites featuring separate living and dining area."

In our own words, the room we booked satisfied all our needs. To be honest the room was in fact a very spacious studio apartment complete with a kitchenette and washer dryer.

The bathroom was well appointed, the living room cosy and the bedroom comfortable. In other words, we had absolutely no complaints and will in fact make Hutton Central Hotel our default accommodation for future trips to Penang.

ETS to BUTTERWORTH

Today is the day!

We teased about planning a short trip to an undisclosed destination in our previous video, and we can now divulge that we will be going to Penang.

We woke up at half past five in the morning and after quickly getting ready we hailed a Grab car to KL Sentral to catch an ETS train to Butterworth. The fare was RM82.00 each (approximately USD/EUR18) but since we purchased our tickets directly from the ETS counter there was an RM15 (approximately USD/EUR3) discount, so it eventually cost us RM67.00 each (approximately USD/EUR15).

We arrived shortly after six in the morning and was disappointed not to find a single eatery open. McDonald's opened a quarter to seven, but we were dissuaded by the large crowds that formed.

An hour later we were allowed onto the platform and at precisely 8:03am the train departed. The trip was largely uneventful but for a couple of loud individuals who got on at Ipoh. They managed to continuously hold a rather raucous conversation throughout the entire two hours that it took the train to get from Ipoh to their eventual stop at Bukit Mertajam. One of them had a very shrilly voice that we found very tiresome.

Oh well, when life gives you lemons, we made lemonade. Or rather, we counted the number of times (or at least we tried but eventually lost count of) the shrilly person saying the word "Act-Chili". For those who don't follow he was actually mispronouncing the word "Actually".

Once these raucous individuals disembarked it was just one more stop: We were in Butterworth!

We quite enjoyed the train ride and apart from the minor noise pollution would most definitely recommend the ETS to anyone looking for a relaxing way to get to Butterworth (and Penang).

TEPUI Corner

We were up and about since early this morning and spent the entire three hours or so on a walkabout that took us from KL Sentral to Bandar Tasik Selatan then Bukit Bintang before finally back in the vicinity of our home.

Naturally by lunchtime we were absolutely famished and decided on Tepui Corner at Semua House. A new-found restaurant it served mostly Thai cuisine which we found unbelievably delicious. Unlike most other Malay eateries it was pay first then be served, so we quickly ordered the:

Minced Chicken Omelette with Rice for RM11.90
Basic Chicken Fried Rice for RM11.90
Two rounds of Coca-Cola for RM8.00

We quite enjoyed our simple lunch and was ecstatic that our meal did not attract any taxes, coming up to a modest RM31.80 (approximately USD/EUR7). Definitely an everyday meal for the everyday person, we cannot recommend Tepui Corner enough.

KL Sentral - TBS - Bukit Bintang

We were planning a short trip next week to an undisclosed destination, and so we caught a GoKL Red Line Free Bus to KL Sentral, then our train tickets from the ETS counter. We then caught a KTM Komuter train to Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS). If you are in a hurry we would recommend that you instead try the Kelana Jaya LRT Line to Masjid Jamek then change over to the Putra Heights LRT Line.

In our case we were not in a hurry so it did not matter. After a considerable wait our train finally arrived, and after twenty minutes we arrived at the Bandar Tasik Selatan station. The fare was RM2.10 each (USD/EUR0.50).

We walked into Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), Klang Valley's largest bus terminal looking to buy return bus tickets from our undisclosed destination but found it swarmed, and were dismayed to see that out of the many counters there only five or so were operating, contributing to the unbearably long queues.

We then walked over to the self-service kiosk but discovered that our preferred bus line was not listed. Oh well, we could always purchase our tickets online.

We then walked to the LRT Bandar Tasik Selatan station and caught the Sentul LRT Line to the Hang Tuah LRT Station before switching over to the Monorail to the Bukit Bintang Monorail station for a total fare of RM2.90 each (USD0.70/EUR0.60).

Our luggage bags needed replacing so we walked into Sungei Wang Plaza and visited the Leather Avenue outlet to browse. The prices were however very prohibitive.

Undeterred we then caught a GoKL Blue Line Free Bus back but instead of going home we walked over to Haniffa Department Store to settle another errand. We then walking across Jalan Bunus 6 where we had lunch at Tepui Corner at Semua House, so be sure to catch our next video.

Lunch settled we walked through the famous Jalan TAR Night Market here. We arrived at SOGO and visited the Travel for All retail outlet look at some luggage but did not find any we fancied. The salesperson was also not very keen on serving us.

So with that we headed home. On the way back we stopped by a shawarma stall and got one each for dinner. We ended our vlog here and will probably settle our luggage issue tomorrow.

BUKIT BINTANG Walkabout (Sungei Wang Plaza, Eye Smart Vision, Plaza Low Yat, Vinh City)

We enjoyed a three-day weekend break and stayed home for most of it. Today, a Monday is the Birthday of His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Malaysia's King.

We awoke fashionably late and and left our home late morning headed to the Medan Tuanku Monorail station. We had a few errands to run that involved several establishments in the Bukit Bintang area and the monorail ride will take us right to the very centre of it all.

We arrived at the Bukit Bintang Monorail Station five minutes later and the fare was RM3.10 each (approximately USD/EUR0.70). My spectacles snapped and our first errand was to visit Jimmy of Eye Smart Vision at the first floor of Sungei Wang Plaza. For only RM40 (approximately USD9/EUR8) I got my frames replaced.

We then headed a floor down to the Maybank ATM for our second errand, to replenish the 'Federal Reserves', then headed down to the lower ground floor. We walked into a pharmacy in search of pain relief patches (our third errand of the day) but to no avail. We then headed to Giant Supermarket and out onto the carpark and walked out.

We walked across Jalan Bulan 1 and into Plaza Low Yat, then took several escalators up to Level 2. Here we walked into Sri Computers for our fourth errand and got a 12V 2A adapter for RM25 (approximately USD6/EUR5) meant to power a string of LED lights that I had just bought.

We then headed a floor down for our fifth and final errand, which was to look for screen protectors. The first shop quoted a price of RM50 (approximately USD12/EUR11) and so we continued on along. The second shop then quoted a much more reasonable RM25 (approximately USD6/EUR5) and so a deal was done.

After that we took the elevator down to the ground floor and walked out of Plaza Low Yat, back into Sungei Wang Plaza. We then rode another elevator up to the third floor to have lunch at Vinh City. Cat had her customary Beef Noodle Soup while I had the Beef Fried Rice together with a round of Green Tea and a cup of excellent Vietnamese coffee.

Our very delightful Vietnamese meal cost RM41.50 (approximately USD10/EUR9). We rode another elevator down to the first floor and walked out of Sungei Wang Plaza, back to the Bukit Bintang Monorail Station. This time we disembarked two stops away at the Bukit Nanas Monorail Station, the fare was RM2.70 each (approximately USD/EUR0.60) and walked past the Terowong Bukit Nanas to the bus stand opposite the Dang Wangi LRT Station.

Here we eventually caught the GoKL Blue Line Free Bus that took us virtually to the doorstep of Plaza City One, and we safely got back home.
