Genting Premium Outlets Day Trip
Two weeks after returning from Penang, we set out on another day trip, this time to Genting Premium Outlets. It had been a while since our last visit, so we were genuinely excited.
Planning Ahead
A few days earlier, we had gone to KL Sentral to buy our bus tickets from the Resorts World counter. We booked a 9:15am bus going up and a 2:00pm bus coming back down. Each ticket cost only RM10.00 (≈ USD/EUR2), which felt like great value.
Getting There
We left home at eight in the morning, planning to take a Grab car to KL Sentral. Unfortunately, no drivers were available, so we walked to Jalan TAR and caught the free GOKL Red Line bus instead. We boarded at 8:25am and arrived at KL Sentral fifteen minutes later.
With some time before departure, we had breakfast at Richiamo Cafe. We ordered a hazelnut latte, teh tarik, and nasi lemak for RM24.00 (≈ USD/EUR5). It was a simple meal and a pleasant start to the day.
Up to Genting
At nine, we went down to the Resorts World bus stop and boarded right away. Buying our tickets early turned out to be a good move, as only later departures were available that morning.
The bus left on time and passed the Gombak Toll Plaza at 9:45am. We arrived at the Genting Awana Bus Terminal at 10:20am. After a quick break, we started exploring the outlet mall.
Shopping Time
After about an hour and a half of browsing, Cat picked up three dresses from Cotton On for RM120.00 (≈ USD27/EUR24). We then stopped at Levi’s and took advantage of a buy two get one free offer, coming away with three pairs of jeans for RM458.00 (≈ USD104/EUR92). Our last stop was Universal Traveller, where we bought a 20 inch carry on bag with a laptop compartment for RM599.00 (≈ USD136/EUR120).
Lunch and a Surprise
Once we were done shopping, we looked around for food but did not feel drawn to the options. With a cold still lingering, we chose a comforting herbal meal at Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh instead for a total of RM94.00 (≈ USD21/EUR19).
After lunch, we had drinks at Coffee Bean while waiting for our return bus. We headed back to the terminal before two, boarded shortly after, and returned to KL Sentral about an hour later.
Feeling unwell, we visited a nearby clinic. On a hunch, the doctor suggested a Covid test, which came back positive. After collecting medication, we took a Grab car for a fare of RM24.00 (≈ USD/EUR5) home and rested.
We hoped this would pass quickly, with our next trip planned in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned for what comes next!
