Hello everyone! We are Cat and Harold from Kuala Lumpur. Welcome to our vlog, created to catalogue our memories, life’s events and travels.
Why “Have Perut Will Travel”? It’s a play on words from an old Western TV show called “Have Gun - Will Travel”, but we let our tummies lead the way ❣️

HKT Day 1 │ Patong Heritage • Jungceylon • Roma Ristorante!
Arrival & Late Lunch
We reached Patong Heritage Hotel at 3:40pm, waiting while Brendan checked in. Cat and I headed to our apartment on the 11th floor, while Brendan continued up a floor to his room. After dropping our luggage and a quick freshen up, we went up to see his cosy, comfortable room before heading back down to look for a late lunch.
With the afternoon slipping away, we skipped Jungceylon and walked out toward Rai Uthit Song Roi Pi Road, turning left to SakSa Thaifood. We ordered:
2 × Pad Khra Pow
Thai Fried Noodles
2 Coca Cola
Mineral Water TH407 (≈ MYR51/USD12/EUR11).
7 Eleven & Seed Tattoo
After lunch, we stopped at 7 Eleven for snacks and provisions (TH401). Then we crossed over to Seed Tattoo, where Brendan met Sunny to discuss a small piece. They agreed on a design, price, and an appointment set for two days later — just before our return to Kuala Lumpur.
Birthday by the Beach
We stepped out again at 6pm, the heat softened and the city easing into evening. Crossing onto Rat Uthit Song Roi Pi Road, we headed south into that quiet in between moment where day lingered and night began to stir.
Turning into Soi Keb Sab, the street came alive gently — shops opening, scooters gliding past, voices mixing with warm food scents. We continued straight to Thaweewong Road, turned north along Patong Beach, and walked under a sky unfolding in orange, pink, and purple over the Andaman Sea.
Dinner at Roma
We continued along Thaweewong Road to Roma Ristorante & Pizzeria, settling on:
Half & Half Pizza (Ai 4 Formaggi & Alla Diavala)
Pasta All’Amatriciana
Watermelon Shake
Small Chang Beer
Small Singha Beer
TH1,149 (≈ MYR143/USD35/EUR30).
Dinner was calm until four loud Australian boys disrupted the peace. One particularly rambunctious youth kept firing off expletives, but we kept our cool until his tirade fizzled out.
Bangla Road & Jungceylon
After dinner, we strolled along Thaweewong Road and turned into Bangla Road. Brendan took in the sights and sounds — and will likely return on his own. At the end of the strip, we crossed Rat Uthit Song Roi Pi Road into Jungceylon Mall.
Swensen’s Birthday Dessert
We treated Brendan to rum and raisin themed desserts at Swensen’s:
Celebrity Brown (vanilla + rum raisin)
Banana Split (chocolate, strawberry, rum raisin)
Banana Boat (vanilla + rum raisin)
All for a rather pricey but well worthTHB876 (≈ MYR109/USD27/EUR23).
Shopping Run
At Uniqlo, I failed to find a messenger bag, but Cat picked up a NaRaYa makeup bag (THB290). Upstairs at Adidas Originals, I finally found a suitable messenger bag, plus swim trunks and socks — THB5,720.
Back at Uniqlo, Brendan bought three t shirts, while Cat got two t shirts and shorts (THB2,040). Brendan then headed to Patong Beach while Cat and I continued south.
Foot Massage & Return Home
Our feet were aching, so we slipped into Hello Gold Massage for a much needed THB400 foot massage each. By the time we finished, it was 11pm. We crossed back over the road and returned to Patong Heritage to retire for the night.
Stay tuned for the next video as we take Brendan on a guided tour to visit the Big Buddha!
