Hello everyone! We are Cat and Harold from Kuala Lumpur. Welcome to our vlog, created to catalogue our memories, life’s events and travels.
Why “Have Perut Will Travel”? It’s a play on words from an old Western TV show called “Have Gun - Will Travel”, but we let our tummies lead the way ❣️

BKK Day 5 │ City Complex • Siam Paragon • Lido Connect!
Sunday Walkabout: A Day of Food, Fashion & Fun in Bangkok
The day started bright and early at 8:00 AM as I worked on our videos before rallying the crew an hour later. By 10:00 AM, we hopped on the shuttle to Gateway Ekkamai, arriving in just five minutes. A quick escalator ride brought us to the Ekkamai BTS station, and soon we were on a train bound for Kho Khut.
Seven stops later, we landed at Ratchathewi station, where a Grab ride (THB143 ≈ MYR19/USD5/EUR4) whisked us to City Complex. The ride was cozy—our driver had company in the front seat, so the three of us squeezed into the back!
Denim Dreams & Shopping Sprees
Mission one: exchange Brendan’s oversized jeans. Luckily, Big Bank was right by the escalators, and the swap was a breeze. With that done, we browsed a little more, and Brendan scored two pairs of denim shorts from Review Jeans for THB900 (≈ MYR117/USD29/EUR25). Denim quota: complete!
Another Grab (THB121 ≈ MYR16/USD4/EUR3) took us back to Ratchathewi station, and we hopped on the BTS to Siam—just one stop away.
Lunch at Gourmet Eats, Siam Paragon
At Gourmet Eats, we loaded up a prepaid card with THB1,000 (≈ MYR130/USD32/EUR27) and hunted for a table. Once seated, the feast began:
2 sets of Leng Saap
Crispy Pork Rice
Yellow Noodles with Crispy Pork
Coca-Cola, Iced Milk Tea, and Iced Mocha
Total damage? THB660 (≈ MYR86/USD21/EUR18). Worth every baht!
Camera Hunt & Stellar Service
Next stop: Big Camera on the 2nd floor. No luck on the wrist strap, but the staff kindly suggested Zoom Camera on the 4th floor. Unlike the frosty vibe at ICONSIAM, the service here was top-notch! Found the strap for THB890 (≈ MYR115/USD28/EUR24)—mission accomplished.
Fashion Finds & Guitar Vibes
We wandered through Siam Square, soaking in the buzz, and popped into Gentle Woman’s flagship store, where Cat snagged a chic handbag for THB990 (≈ MYR128/USD32/EUR27). Then it was off to Lido Connect to browse guitars at Unit before parting ways with Brendan (off to hunt for “client-facing clothes”). We thought about catching the 40(4-39) but just missed it by a whisker so we headed up to the Siam BTS station.
Sweet Treats & Evening Bliss
Back at Gateway Ekkamai, we grabbed green cakes (THB115 ≈ MYR15/USD4/EUR3) and fresh fruit packs (THB100 ≈ MYR13/USD3/EUR3) before catching the 3:30 PM shuttle home. After a quick rest, Cat and I headed to Aurora Massage for a heavenly one-hour neck, shoulder, and foot massage (THB750 ≈ MYR97/USD24/EUR20).
Dinner & Our 7-Eleven Ritual
Dinner was at our favorite Pad Thai stall near PTT Rama 4 Road:
Fried Rice with Pork
Omelette with Minced Pork
Pad Thai with Egg
Refreshing sodas and Coke
All for THB368 (≈ MYR48/USD12/EUR10). A quick 7-Eleven stop for snacks and essentials (THB576 ≈ MYR75/USD18/EUR16) wrapped up the day.
What’s Next?
We strolled back to Tierra Residences, ready for an early night. Stay tuned—next up, we’re heading to The Grand Palace and some of Bangkok’s most iconic temples!
