BKK Day 11 │ BKK to KUL • Tierra to City One!

Bangkok Adventures: A Family Trip to Remember!

All Good Things Must Come to an End

Ten glorious days in Bangkok flew by in a blur, leaving us with warm memories and a sense of gratitude. This trip was extra special because Brendan joined us—possibly the last family holiday before he starts his new job next week.

Highlights of Our Bangkok Journey

From bustling markets to serene temples, Bangkok offered an experience of a lifetime. Here’s what we loved most:

  • Shopping Sprees: Pratunam and Chatuchak markets were a shopper’s paradise.
  • Music Hunt: Guitar shopping at Fortune Town was a dream come true.
  • Cultural Immersion: The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun left us in awe.
  • Sunset Cruise: A buffet dinner on the Chao Phraya River was pure magic.
  • Unique Markets: Maeklong Railway and Damnoen Saduk Floating Market were unforgettable.
  • Street Food Galore: Every corner had a culinary surprise waiting for us.

Our Home Away from Home

A big shout-out to Tierra Residences for being such gracious hosts! Nestled away from the chaos yet close enough to the action, our apartment truly felt like home.

The Journey Back

Our last morning began at 7:30 AM with packing and a quiet breakfast. By 9:45 AM, we checked out and headed to Suvarnabhumi Airport. We arranged for an airport transfer with Tierra Residences for THB1,000 (≈ MYR130/USD32/EUR27). Here’s a quick timeline:

10:25 AM: Arrived at the airport.
11:15 AM: Checked in at Malaysia Airlines (Row P).
12:20 PM: Gate revealed—C9.
2:10 PM: Boarding began.
3:00 PM: MH789 took off.
6:00 PM: Landed safely in Kuala Lumpur.

From breezing through Immigration with MyBorderPass to collecting our oversized guitar case (for THB250 ≈ MYR33/USD8/EUR7 I got it securely wrapped), everything went smoothly. A quick KLIA Express ride brought us to KL Sentral, and finally, a Grab ride home for MYR18 ≈ USD/EUR4.

Final Thoughts

Knackered but buzzing, we can’t wait for our next adventure. Bangkok gave us memories to cherish forever—shopping, culture, food, and family moments all rolled into one.
