UAE 2016 Day 04: Café Blanc

LG 107 Lower Ground Level
Dubai Mall (Near Water Fountain)
Dubai
United Arab Emirates
Coordinates: 25.195711, 55.278291

After all the excitement surrounding our visit to the summit of the Burj Khalifa all of us were feeling famished. It was partly due to the fact that in order to get the lobby by 8:30am we had to forgo a proper breakfast. No doubt it was a small price to pay for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Descending from the summit we were taken to the terrace area of Dubai Mall overlooking the Burj Khalifa Lake to have our brunch.

Café Blanc is situated at the heart of Downtown Dubai and commands a pretty awesome view of its surroundings, from the Burj Khalifa to the right to the Souk al Bahar and the accompanying bridge right up to the luxury hotel simply known as The Address.

promise of a delighful Lebanese meal awaits

this was not where we wanted to be seated though

we're headed outside!

We sat outside at the terrace to enjoy our brunch since the patio is cooled with fans and offers a great view of the bridge to Soul al Bahar.

overlooking the lake

an amazing ambiance

Since it was our first time here Ginny and Sern thought it would be a great idea for us to try out their Falafel, a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas. They also ordered a Lebanese Mezze, which for the want of a better description is an assortment of Lebanese finger food. It is a platter laden with little dishes of what we might call appetizers or tapas.

I wished I'd order this

clean and simple crockery

lebanese salad

cannot recall what this is

falafels

the entire mezze spread

We also had a round of Turkish coffee that in hindsight was not quite our cup of tea, hahaha.

an acquired taste

not our 'cup of tea'

The Lebanese cuisine served at Café Blanc was delicious and the portions were very generous. Well, that’s another first for us. Time for us to head back into Dubai Mall for some spot of serious window shopping and star gazing.
