SKH Day 2 │ Anson Hainan Kopitiam!

Lunch at Anson Hainan Kopitiam

After our visit to the Leaning Tower, we hopped back into BiBi and drove a short distance to our lunch destination: Anson Hainan Kopitiam.

Before diving into our own experience, we found an apt description on UAK Travel’s website that captures the spirit of this kopitiam — a place where locals and travellers gather for simple, comforting meals, traditional coffee, and a slice of everyday Teluk Intan life. It’s known for standout dishes like Mee Udang and its viral milk toast, and for offering a no frills, authentic kopitiam atmosphere that resonates with the town’s rhythm.

What We Ordered

Although the Mee Udang and Milk Toast are the stars of the menu, we decided to try something different. After browsing the options, we ordered:

• Hainan Chicken Chop
• Nasi Lemak Otak Ikan
• traditional Iced Coffee
• Iced Herbal Tea

Our meal came to RM47.50 (about USD11/EUR10). Everything was hearty, flavourful, and exactly the kind of comfort food you’d expect from a classic Malaysian kopitiam.

Heading Back to Sekinchan

Once we were done, we got back into BiBi and made the return drive to Sekinchan. It was a smooth journey, and we spent the rest of the afternoon indoors, saving our energy for the evening.
