SKH Day 2 │ Abah Bonda Ikan Bakar • Pantai Redang!

Back to Seafood in Sekinchan

If there’s one thing Sekinchan is known for, it’s seafood. We may have strayed from the theme during lunch in Teluk Intan, but dinner brought us right back to it.

We spent the afternoon indoors at the hotel — editing videos, resting, and taking a short siesta. We woke up at 5:30pm and, within the hour, hopped into BiBi for a very short drive to our dinner spot.

Dinner at Abah Bonda Ikan Bakar

Abah Bonda Ikan Bakar is famous for its grilled seafood. We had our hearts set on Stingray, but only whole fish were sold — far too large for the two of us. So we switched to Pomfret (Ikan Bawal), only to discover that the smallest one available weighed 1.1875 kg.

At RM80 per kilogram, our grilled fish alone cost RM95 (about USD22/EUR19). With drinks, Salted Fish Kailan, two plates of rice, and an extra glass of Teh Tarik, our total bill came to RM120.20 (about USD28/EUR24).

The verdict? The Pomfret was beautifully seasoned and grilled to perfection — but the surly service left much to be desired. Definitely not an experience we’d repeat.

A Detour to Pantai Redang

After sunset, we decided to take a drive to Pantai Redang. To our surprise, a funfair was in full swing. Despite it being a weekend, most of the rides were quiet except for the little train ride making its rounds.

We strolled around for a bit, soaking in the lights and seaside breeze, before hopping back into BiBi and returning to the hotel.

Heading Home Next

That wraps up our evening in Sekinchan.

Stay tuned for the next video as we make the two hour drive back to Kuala Lumpur.
