CAM Day 2 │ Evening In BRINCHANG: Big Red Strawberry Farm • Cactus Valley

Strawberries and Cactuses

The scones we had at Cameron Valley Tea House turned out to be so filling that we skipped lunch entirely. I spent the early afternoon sorting out footage from the morning, and soon after, we all drifted into a nap.

We woke at 3:45pm and got ready for the next adventure of the day: strawberries and cactuses.

Big Red Strawberry Farm

We hailed a Grab to Big Red Strawberry Farm in Brinchang for RM18.00 (≈ USD/EUR4). Our kind driver reminded us that during Ramadan, the farm closes at 5:00pm instead of the usual 6:00pm.

We arrived at 4:15pm, giving us less than an hour — but better than nothing.

We made our way up the steep climb to the café and ordered:

  • Strawberry Ice Cream
  • Strawberry Jelly
  • Strawberry Pudding

All for RM22.70 (≈ USD5/EUR4).

After our sweet treats, we strolled through the alleys lined with fresh vegetables and flowers before heading toward Cactus Valley, which had already closed for the day.

Walking to Dinner

We continued down to the main road and walked along Jalan Angsana heading northeast, then turned right onto Jalan Besar. Further south, near the fire station, we crossed over to Jalan Bandar.

A short walk later, we arrived at our dinner destination — the perennial favourite OK Tuck Steamboat Restaurant.

We enjoyed a sumptuous early dinner, then hailed a Grab back to Cameron Fair for RM13.00 (≈ USD/EUR3).

A Little Shopping

Back at Cameron Fair, we browsed a clothing store in search of thicker sleeping attire. I finally found a tracksuit for RM120.00 (≈ USD25/EUR23) — the nights in Cameron Highlands can get very cold, so I should be warm and toasty tonight.

What’s Next

By the way, tomorrow’s my birthday, so do stay tuned — and be sure to catch our upcoming video on OK Tuck.
