Restoran Second Sis Fish Ball

Jalan Merdeka
75000 Melaka
Coordinates: 2.189137, 102.260373

We spent a quiet and uneventful Christmas with my parents in Bentong together with my sister Ginny and her husband Vincent. A day later on Boxing Day my parents, together with my sister, brother in law and Brendan in tow all went to Singapore to visit with my other sister Veronica.

Barely three weeks since our last visit Cat and I found ourselves coming to Melaka with the intention of spending New Year’s here. Also, since Brendan was not with us on this particular occasion it kind of felt like a second honeymoon?

We left Kuala Lumpur pretty early and by the time we arrived it was mid-morning, and much too early for us to check into our budget hotel. Yes, this time we booked our room at Tengkera Hotel with the ever reliable and friendly Suukee Swee.

However, since we were much too early we decided on a late breakfast or (way too) early lunch, or brunch as some would call it. After driving around Melaka town settled on this restaurant all because of its quirky name.

the signboard caught our eye

and we were curious as heck

Cat and I both had the (what else) Fish Ball Soup with Rice Vermicelli.

Cat and I

both had the same thing

to wash it all donw

traditional utensils

The verdict? Plain coloured soup with any form of noodle usually does not go well with my palate, but the variety offered here soon changed my perspective and impression. With the entire meal hardly costing us RM20 this restaurant does definitely serve the everyday food for the everyday man.
