TGG Day 5 │ Fond Farewells: The Final Reveal!

Final Reveal

We met you again after returning from our food spree, both of us a little tired but content. Cat got busy with the laundry while we sat down to face the mountain of footage we had collected over the past five days. It felt heavy but meaningful, knowing that every clip carried a memory.

One Last Visit

We had brought along a small goodie bag of chocolates for Vinodh and his mother, but we did not manage to pass it to him the night before. At six in the evening, we drove out of the Airbnb and headed to Vinodh’s home in Taman Jaya. We handed over the chocolates, shared a few warm words, and even managed to take a quick selfie with his mother. It was a simple moment, but one that stayed with us.

We said our goodbyes with a promise to return soon, knowing that time here was coming to an end.

Closing a Chapter

From there, we drove to my late aunty’s house one final time. This visit felt different. As promised, we walked through the entire house and showed you the results of the fourteen-hour spring cleaning completed a few days earlier. The house no longer felt abandoned. It felt cared for.

We went room by room, making sure every switch was turned off, every curtain drawn, and every window closed. Then we switched off the main circuit, locked the gate, and stood there for a moment before leaving. It felt like closing a chapter properly, with respect and intention.

Heading Back Early

We knew there would be a parade later that night near the Airbnb, which meant traffic could get messy. So we decided to head back quickly. Because of that, we did not get the chance to properly chat with Heng, our wonderful neighbour, as we said goodbye. Another small regret, but one we accepted.

Winding Down

We planned to order takeaway that night and keep things quiet. This would be our last video from our second-to-last day in Kuala Terengganu.

Tomorrow, we would be heading home.

And as we put our things down and took a breath, it felt like we were leaving with lighter hearts—closure found, memories made, and stories ready to be told.
