Le Méridien Putrajaya
Today was the day of my office’s annual dinner, and our band was asked to assemble before 9:00am for sound checks. We left the Airbnb at 8:30am, and by the time we arrived at Le Méridien Putrajaya, some of my bandmates were already waiting patiently.
While we waited for our turn, Brendan and Cat went off to explore the vast expanse of IOI City Mall, which is directly connected to the hotel.
It turned out the event’s sound engineers needed more time — almost two hours — before our instruments were fully set up. Once everything was ready, we ran through a few songs to make sure the audio balance was just right. Half an hour later, we were done.
Since none of us had eaten all morning, we headed to the nearest mamak at the Conezion cluster for a quick brunch.
Rest Before the Big Night
We returned to the Airbnb and rested the entire afternoon. Later in the evening, we made our way back to the hotel. Brendan dropped me off first, then parked Puteh, after which he and Cat continued exploring IOI City Mall while I prepared for the dinner.
The Annual Dinner
The event was a joyful occasion — lively, warm, and full of familiar faces. Our band’s performance was a roaring success, and we shared a few snippets here and there. You can catch the full performance on my other channel, Fatboy Blimp:
