(This establishment was covered extensively here)

Today is going to be a long day of gallivanting (woot!) and we decided to have breakfast with old familiar friends.

a familiar face

hello my old friend

We’ve not been here in a while (since Cat started cooking again). Brendan’s presence after a prolonged absence drew gasps of amazement from all the stall operators. Much to our embarrassment, the uncle who prepares Cat’s favourite fried mee hoon loudly pronounced his astonishment at how much Brendan has grown.

this is what I'm talking about!

The proprietor and I got to chatting and he then introduced us to an old classmate of his, Tony who was helping out around the restaurant in exchange for free meals. Turns out, they were from the graduating secondary school, class of 1976… get this… from St John’s Institution! Brendan was suitably impressed with the Johannian spirit and camaraderie that prevailed all these years.
