LRT-MRT-GOKL: Midvalley to Metro Prima and Back!

Sunday Errand, Unexpectedly Busy

We had planned for a lazy Sunday at home. Instead, an unplanned errand sent us out the door at nine in the morning, heading toward Masjid Jamek LRT Station.

A Festive Mission

With a Chinese New Year gathering coming up at work—and my birthday less than two weeks away—we needed a suitable outfit. Ideally, we were hoping to find a hanfu, traditional Chinese attire.

We walked along Jalan Bunus 6, turned onto Jalan Masjid India, then continued down Jalan Melayu until we reached the station. From there, we took the LRT to Abdullah Hukum for RM1.90 (≈ USD0.50/EUR0.40) and walked the covered pathway leading into The Gardens and Mid Valley Megamall.

Breakfast First

Since we arrived early and most shops were still closed, we decided on breakfast at the food court inside AEON BIG. We chose Coco Cafe and ordered nasi lemak and toasted bread sets, each served with teh tarik.

Breakfast came to RM10.40 per set (≈ USD2/EUR2). It was simple, warm, and just right for the morning.

The Search Continues

After breakfast, we began our hunt for the hanfu. An hour later, we came up empty handed. Rather than force it, we decided to try another location.

We made our way back to Abdullah Hukum, returned to Masjid Jamek, switched to the Sentul Line, then changed again at Titiwangsa to the MRT Kwasa Damansara Line. We finally got off at Metro Prima MRT Station, paying a total of RM4.70 (≈ USD/EUR1) for the combined ride.

A Festive Alternative

At AEON Metro Prima, we searched the men’s department but did not find any hanfu. However, a brightly coloured festive shirt caught our eye. It felt right, so we bought it for RM109.00 (≈ USD23/EUR21).

Lunch and Treats

Since it was close to lunchtime, we browsed the food stalls and settled on the Sizzling & Claypot stall. We ordered sizzling mushroom chicken yee and sizzling chicken rice with mushroom. Together with drinks from another stall, lunch came to RM30.70 (≈ USD6/EUR6).

Before heading home, we stopped by La Boheme and picked up a bag of pastries for RM42.60 (≈ USD9/EUR8).

Heading Home

We returned to Metro Prima MRT Station, took the train back to Titiwangsa for RM2.80 (≈ USD0.70/EUR0.60), and boarded a free GoKL Blue Line bus to Sogo Kuala Lumpur. From there, it was a short walk back home.

The day did not go exactly as planned, but it felt productive and quietly satisfying—proof that even a lazy Sunday could turn into a full little adventure.
