Hello everyone! We are Cat and Harold from Kuala Lumpur. Welcome to our vlog, created to catalogue our memories, life’s events and travels.
Why “Have Perut Will Travel”? It’s a play on words from an old Western TV show called “Have Gun - Will Travel”, but we let our tummies lead the way ❣️

CGK Day 1 │ KUL to CGK • MH721!
Back in Batavia!
It's been eight months since our last visit, and a year since our first. Truth be told Indonesia is our new favourite shopping destination, more so that Thailand. Besides the more favourable currency exchange we found the articles of clothing to be of a higher quality especially the Batik which is locally produced.
Brendan has now completed his master's program and has began interning at a local fintech, so this time we had to make our own way to KL City Air Terminal. We left our home at a quarter past eight then hailed a six-seater Grab car for a fare of RM16.00 (approximately USD4/EUR3) to KL Sentral. We were dropped at the entrance to the KL City Air Terminal and we walked over to the check-in counters.
As always we bought our KLIA Express train tickets online to enjoy a discount, so a return ticket only cost us RM90.00 each (approximately USD21/EUR18). This is important to note since the only way to gain access to the KL City Air Terminal was with the KLIA Express tickets. We scanned our train tickets at the turnstile and voila! We were in. For now KL City Air Terminal caters to only Malaysia Airlines (MAS), Batik Air and KLM.
We submitted our yellow submarines for a security check before checking it in. Our bags weighed 27kgs, well within the allowed total of 50kgs. We then exited the KL City Air Terminal and walked across past the KLIA Express turnstiles using the same train tickets. We narrowly missed the 8:41am train so we waited for the next one due in fifteen minutes.
The train departed KL Sentral at 9:00am and arrived in KLIA half an hour later. Since our bags were all checked in safe for a small carry-on we rode a series of escalators up to the Departure floor. Here we walked over to the Malaysia Airlines counter to sort out our seating arrangements
.
We initially selected seats 16H and 16K, but were eventually given seats 28A and 28C? We did not realise the anomaly until we boarded the train and I thought to check our boarding passes.
We ironed out the matter and headed to the Departure Hall. We cleared immigration without incident but for the fact that Cat's MyBorderPass malfunctioned. With the autogates busy she opted for the traditional counter and got her passport stamped.
We then checked the FIDS screen to discover our gate C35 was at the satellite building. Before we boarded the Air Train Cat stopped by the MAC store and got three of her favourite shade of compact powder. Since the total came to more than RM500.00 she was entitled to RM50.00 off bringing the total to RM493.00 (approximately USD117/EUR100).
We then rode the Air Train and disembarked to look for a place to eat. We eventually settled on The Loaf where we had the:
Mushroom Cream Soup
Ciabatta Chicken Mayo Sandwich
Zesty Sizzle Wrap
Teh Tarik
Orange Juice
which attracted a 10% service charge and tax that brought the total to RM101.75 (approximately USD24/EUR21).
An hour before departure we made our way to Gate C35 and navigated past the final most stringent security checkpoint before taking our seats at the lounge. Boarding began at 1:15pm and we finally got on board ten minutes later. The plane pushed back at 1:43pm and took off at approximately 2:00pm.
The flight was uneventful, and our inflight meal was served half an hour later. I had the Chicken Varuval while Cat opted for the Mango Fish.
The aircraft soon began its descent and MH721 touched down at 3:00pm local time. Kudos to Captain Wan Arif and Chief Stewardess Jennilee for an excellent flight.
Stay tuned for the next video as we breezed past Immigration and Customer then head to Thamrin Executive Residence!
