NGD│ DJI Osmo Nano!

New Gear Day — DJI Osmo Nano Adventure

Today turned into a full shopping story, all because of a brand new camera.

I first read online about DJI’s latest release, the DJI Osmo Nano. Unlike the earlier Osmo 360—which never appealed to us because of its fish eye look—this new model felt different. DJI described it as “lightweight and ready for anything,” and with the same 1/1.3″ sensor found in the Action 5 Pro, it seemed perfect as a smaller second camera.

To be sure, we contacted CM from Altech Camera at Berjaya Times Square to check stock. He confirmed he had units available, so we set a meeting for today.

Berjaya Times Square — Camera Secured

We left home at 11:00am and took a Grab for RM10.00 (≈ USD/EUR2). Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at Berjaya Times Square and headed straight to the sixth floor. CM showed us the Osmo Nano, everything looked good, and we made the transfer. Just like that — new gear day.

On the way down, we stopped by LC Waikiki, where Cat picked up two blouses for RM74.80 (≈ USD18/EUR15).

Lunch at LaLaport — Nostalgia on a Plate

It was almost lunchtime, so we walked over to LaLaport. After a quick restroom break, we settled on Hawker Chan, a familiar name from our lockdown days when GrabFood deliveries kept us fed.

We ordered:

Soy Sauce Chicken Rice with added Char Siew
Siew Yoke Fried Noodles
2 Iced Chrysanthemum Teas

Total: RM42.00 (≈ USD10/EUR9).

Mitsui Shopping Park — The Real Spree Begins

From LaLaport, we wandered into Mitsui Shopping Park.

Mr DIY: picked up insoles.
Nitori: bought home slippers for the three of us — RM89.70 (≈ USD21/EUR18).
Skechers: found a pair of black work shoes for RM169.00. At the cashier, my membership voucher knocked off RM50.00, bringing the price down to RM119.00 (≈ USD28/EUR24) — an absolute steal.
Daiso: grabbed shoelaces.
GEOX: after a long back and forth with Brendan over the phone, we chose a pair of black Oxford shoes for his December convocation — RM499.00 (≈ USD118/EUR101).

By this point, with the DJI Osmo Nano included, our total spending easily crossed RM2,000.00 (≈ USD474/EUR405).

Heading Home

We walked to Hang Tuah LRT, paid RM1.40 (≈ USD0.33/EUR0.28) for the ride to Bandaraya, and then made our way home on foot — tired but happy with the day’s haul.
