New Gear Day: DJI Action 4 - Altech Camera • Hawker Chan • Sunny Side Up

New Gear Day!

It's been a month since we came back from Penang. In that time work had again consumed my time,so today was the first time quite a while that we went out purposefully in search of content.

While we love our DJI Action 3 its low light performance left much to be desired. I contacted CM of Altech Camera over at Berjaya Times Square yesterda and made a deal to trade in the body of the DJI Action 3 (minutes all its accessories acquired under the Adventure Combo package) for the DJI Action 4 (Standard combo).

Today we left our condo at eleven and walked north along Jalan Munshi Abdullah before making our way across Jalan Dang Wangi. We continued west for a while before turning right onto Jalan Medan Tuanku headed back north.

We then continued onto Lorong Medan Tuanku 2 then turned right onto Jalan Sultan Ismail before taking an escalator up to the Medan Tuanku Monorail station. A few short minutes later we caught a train for a fare of RM2.30 (approximately USD/EUR0.50) to the Imbi Monorail station. We disembarked and entered Berjaya Times Square and made our way to Altech Camera.

Here we met up with Eric who gave our DJI Action 3 a thorough inspection and look over before giving it his seal of approval. We then paid the difference between the two cameras of(RM1,000 (approximately USD212/EUR195), and were then the proud owners of a brand new DJI Action 4!

I attached the Action 4 to a lanyard strap and began our testing!

We headed out of Berjaya Times Square and walked southwest along Jalan Imbi before taking an escalator up and across footbridge that took us directly into LaLaport BBCC.

We then headed down to the lower ground for lunch. During the pandemic if we had a hankering for  Chinese food our go-to restaurant on the Grab app would always be Hawker Chan. One we entered the endemic stage we saw less and less of this restaurant, so it was kind of nostalgic to have lunch here today after all this time.

We had a seat, scanned the QR code and ordered the:

  • Roasted Pork Rice for Cat
  • Kapitan Curry Pork Rice for moi
  • Each a glass of Homemade Tea

Our lunch came to RM39.25 (approximately USD/EUR8). We then strolled into Jaya Grocer and got ourselves a bagful of pastries for dinner for RM40.10 (approximately USD/EUR8), then made our way out of LaLaport BBCC. We took another escalator up and into the Hang Tuah Monorail station.

A short while later we caught another train for a fare of RM2.60 (approximately USD/EUR0.50) back to the to the Medan Tuanku Monorail station. We got off and strolled onto Jalan Doraisamy since wanted to check out the Sunny Side Up flea market. We were allergic to the "pomposity" here, a little too crass and pretentious for our liking, and beat a hasty retreat.

We continued our stroll along Jalan Doraisamy walking south before walking back across Jalan Dang Wangi before eventually arriving at Starbucks Capital Square Tower that alas was closed on the weekends! We then walked across Jalan Munshi Abdullah and headed back to our condo.

Thus ended our mini walkabout, so be sure to catch our next video where we (hopefully) wake up to enjoy early enough to enjoy a quiet morning of car-free Sunday!
