MLK Day 6 │ Going Home: Baba Charlie • Lao Gan Bang

Melaka Day 6!

All good things must come to an end, and we woke up bright and early to pack our bags. We checked out of the Airbnb at 9:30am, hoping to end our Melaka trip the same way we started it — with breakfast at Odeon Western Food. As expected, it was closed for Chinese New Year.

We then drove a few kilometres to the original Warong Baba Low Café at Tengkera, but it was full. We tried Baba Charlie Café next, but it too was packed. So we headed to Lao Gan Bang Kopitiam at the opposite end of the row of shop houses.

I had a packet of Nasi Lemak, while Cat had her customary Fried Beehoon. With drinks, breakfast came to only RM10.00 (≈ USD/EUR2). I loved the Nasi Lemak so much that I bought six more packets to take away at RM2.00 each.

After breakfast, we walked back to Baba Charlie Café and bought RM63.00 (≈ USD15/EUR14) worth of Nyonya kuih.

The Drive Home

With our errands done, we set off on our drive back to Kuala Lumpur.

Just like our Penang trip, we pieced together highlights of our five days in Melaka into a short montage — a little keepsake of our stay that we hope you’ll enjoy.

The drive itself was uneventful, so do check out our previous vlog dedicated entirely to this calm three hour journey.

We reached home at 1:30pm and began unpacking.
