Saturday Runaround │ Avenue K and Beyond!

A Fresh Kuala Lumpur Run Around

It had been a while since our last proper blog. Between family matters and work deadlines, the weeks slipped by quietly. This Saturday, we finally had the chance to do a proper KL run around — and as usual, we had errands to settle.

Getting to Corus Hotel

We caught the RapidKL #300 double decker bus from the stop near our home and rode to Avenue K on Jalan Ampang. From there, we walked to Corus Hotel to visit the Aeroline counter.

Yes — another Penang trip is coming, this time with Brendan joining us. The tickets cost RM60 each (≈ USD/EUR14) because Aeroline brands itself as a “business class coach.” On the travel day, we’ll board the bus right in front of Corus Hotel and get off at Queensbay Mall in Penang.

Touch ’n Go Errand

We walked back to Avenue K and stopped by Max Fashion before heading to the LRT entrance on the lower ground floor. Here, we bought a Touch ’n Go card for my sister Vivien.

We then boarded the Putra Line and reached KL Sentral in ten minutes.

Lunch and ETS Tickets

We had an early lunch at Meals Station before heading to the KTMB ETS Ticket Counter to buy our return tickets from Butterworth. The fare was RM80 each (≈ USD/EUR18). The coach was almost empty, so we easily chose our preferred seats.

Heading Back Toward Home

With our errands done, we walked out of KL Sentral and boarded the GoKL Free Bus (Red Line) to Jalan Raja Laut. We got off at the KL39 Menara DBKL stop and walked into SOGO Kuala Lumpur. Cat didn’t find the hair conditioner she wanted, so we crossed Jalan TAR and continued our walk.

We made our way to the site of the Ramadhan Bazar Masjid India in search of our favourite banana fritters, then walked home to end our run around for the day.

Today’s Transport Costs

  • RapidKL #300 bus: RM1.00 (≈ USD/EUR0.20)
  • LRT KLCC → KL Sentral: RM2.40 (≈ USD/EUR0.50)
  • GoKL Red Line: Free

A Small Reminder

While masks are now optional outdoors, they are still mandatory indoors. Stay safe and considerate.
