MKZ Day 3 │ PORTUGUESE Settlement

Melaka Trip Day 3 — A Quiet Afternoon to Evening

The Pan Mee breakfast earlier turned out to be more filling than we expected. By lunchtime, we weren’t hungry at all, so we stayed in and made a meal out of what we already had.

Dessert for Lunch (Again)

We nibbled on the leftover cakes and desserts from Baba Charlie, alongside some Eu Char Kueh from the night before. It was simple, a little indulgent, and more than enough to carry us through the afternoon.

A Slow Afternoon

The rest of the afternoon was as relaxed as it could be.

We stayed in the apartment, watching movies on Netflix, while Brendan headed out to Dataran Pahlawan to watch the latest Matrix movie.

It was one of those easy, unplanned afternoons where nothing much happened—but everything felt right.

Evening Plans

As evening approached, we decided to head out for something different. We planned a trip to the Portuguese Settlement, hoping to enjoy the atmosphere and grab dinner there.

Brendan chose to stay back once again, needing more time to finish another assignment.

By the Sea

We hailed a Grab and arrived at the Portuguese Settlement around dusk. The light was fading, and the area had a calm, almost nostalgic feel.

We took a short stroll along the jetty, then walked back toward the main square.

Dinner at De Lisbon

Dinner was at Restoran De Lisbon, where we enjoyed a satisfying meal in a relaxed setting.

With our bellies filled, we spent a bit more time walking around, eventually stopping by the Christ the Redeemer statue nearby.

A Quiet End

We lingered there for a while, taking in the night air while waiting for our Grab ride back.

It wasn’t a busy day. Just:

  • A lazy afternoon
  • A simple outing
  • And a peaceful evening by the sea

And sometimes, that was exactly what we needed.

Stay tuned—more Melaka moments ahead! 🌊✨
