SKH Day 1 │ Loong Hua Seafood!

Seafood by the River

We left the hotel at six in the evening and got into BiBi for a short drive to dinner. The restaurant was only five minutes away. We briefly thought about walking, but the lack of proper sidewalks made driving the safer choice.

Back to a Familiar Place

Our destination was Loong Hua Seafood Restaurant, located in Sekinchan’s fishing village. We had last visited in August 2020, so it felt familiar. Knowing that parking was limited, we made sure to arrive early.

Loong Hua was known as the oldest seafood restaurant in Sekinchan. We liked its setting beside the fishing boat jetty. As we sat down, we watched fishermen at work and boats moving slowly along the river. The restaurant was also known for keeping the traditional cooking style of the local fishing village.

A Classic Sekinchan Dinner

After carefully looking through the menu, we decided on the signature fried bee hoon with crab, deep fried cuttlefish, and a jug of Chinese tea. Our riverside dinner came to RM125.00 (≈USD32/EUR27).

To be honest, it felt a little expensive, especially after the seafood meals we had enjoyed earlier in Kuching and Kuala Terengganu. Still, the setting and atmosphere made the experience special.

Ending the Evening

After dinner, we got back into BiBi and drove to the hotel. Once parked, we walked over to Sri Kassim Supermart nearby to buy cold drinks and some snacks.
