Hello everyone! We are Cat and Harold from Kuala Lumpur. Welcome to our vlog, created to catalogue our memories, life’s events and travels. Why “Have Perut Will Travel”? It’s a play on words from an old Western TV show called “Have Gun - Will Travel”, but we let our tummies lead the way ❣️

HKT Day 2 │ A Guided Tour Pt2 • Jungceylon • First Seafood!
Right after leaving Si Burapha Cashew Nut Factory, we settled back into the minivan for the final stop of our half day tour. The late morning sun warmed the roadside trees as Afiqah (Kate) briefed us on what lay ahead, while Mr. Soop/Soup steered calmly toward Phuket’s heritage heart.
Phuket Old Town — 30 mins
We arrived at 12:45pm, dropped at Go Mango, and stepped straight into the pastel charm of Phuket Old Town. Once a tin mining boomtown, the area blossomed under Chinese migration and European influence, giving rise to the Straits Eclectic shophouses lining Thalang, Dibuk, and Phang Nga Roads. Pastel walls, louvered windows, arched doorways, and five foot walkways reflected the wealth of Peranakan families who shaped the district. Today, restored façades, cafés, and murals keep the old trading hub alive.
We circled the block, soaking in the quiet nostalgia, before returning to Go Mango for refreshments — THB370 (≈ MYR46/USD11/EUR10). At 1:15pm, Afiqah and Mr. Soop/Soup picked us up, marking the end of our heritage tour.
Return to Patong & Anniversary Lunch
By 3:40pm, we were dropped at Jungceylon Mall. We walked across the mall and out to The Botanica zone, instantly drawn to Thai Food Factory for our anniversary feast. We ordered Pad Kra Pao Moo, Kor Moo Yang, Tom Yam Kung, Thai Omelette, and 3 Mineral Water — a hearty spread for THB1,391 (≈ MYR173/USD42/EUR37).
Facetime Spa — Anniversary Treat
Back inside Jungceylon, we headed up to Facetime Spa (Salima Massage & Beauty). After browsing the menu, we chose our usual THB799 facial, and with a small surcharge, the one hour session came to THB2,469 (≈ MYR307/USD75/EUR65). Soft lights, warm towels, and quiet music made it the perfect anniversary indulgence.
Adidas Originals, Uniqlo & A Practical Pick Up
Refreshed, we browsed Adidas Originals before heading into Uniqlo, where I picked up a long sleeved T shirt for the chilly hotel room — THB790 (≈ MYR98/USD24/EUR21).
Back to Patong Heritage
We returned to Patong Heritage for a well deserved rest. Cat sorted the laundry while I continued working through our growing library of footage, including scenes from our recent Alor Setar trip.
Solara Massage — A Night Boost
At 9:10pm, hunger nudged us out again. Crossing Rat Uthit Song Roi Pi Road into Soi Keb Sab, we found Solara Massage, recommended by Rucky of Seed Tattoo. Hearing it was only THB300 (≈ MYR37/USD9/EUR8) for a foot massage, we rushed in. An hour later, invigorated, we split up — Brendan headed to McDonald’s at Patong Beach, while Cat and I continued searching for local fare.
First Seafood — Late Night Local Meal
We settled on First Seafood Restaurant, ordering Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp Paste Salad, Seafood Fried Rice, a small Phuket Beer, and a Lime Smoothie for THB415 (≈ MYR52/USD13/EUR11). A simple, comforting end to our anniversary day.
A short walk brought us back to Patong Heritage, closing the night gently.
Stay tuned for the next video as we enjoy a free and easy day — no schedules, no plans — ending with deck chairs on Patong Beach, watching the sun melt into the horizon!

AOR Day 5 │ Alor Setar to KLIA • FY1673 • Going Home!
We woke at 7:00am after a solid night’s sleep and headed down to Lengkuas Restaurant by 7:30am. The place was almost empty, so we practically had it to ourselves. I kept breakfast simple while Cat sampled nearly everything in sight. By 8:00am, we were back in the room; I changed into work clothes, kissed Cat goodbye, and headed down to the loaner car.
Day One — Workday Rush
Twenty minutes later, I reached AKPK Alor Setar. After settling in, I slipped back into the groove. With the branch short on advisors, I became the last man standing, handling applicant after applicant until lunchtime finally arrived.
Day One — Lunch at Manzur Cafe
I walked out, turned left, passed yesterday’s spot, and settled on Manzur Cafe. A plate of Nasi Kandar with Fried Chicken, Poppadum, and a hot Nescafe came to RM15.70 (≈ USD4/EUR3). Then it was back to the grind. Thankfully, another advisor returned from a nearby talk, easing the load. By 5:45pm, I wrapped up and made the fifteen minute drive back to Grand Alora Hotel.
Day One — Evening Wind Down
After resting, we headed out at 7:00pm for dinner at Rhai Thai Restaurant. Our “light dinner” plan evaporated instantly as we ordered Mixed Tom Yam, Oxtail Soup, two rice, and two Sour Plum Juice for RM35.00 (≈ USD8/EUR7). Back at the hotel, off-camera we met Yus, swapped the Axia for his Persona, and retired for the night.
Day Two — A Fresh Start
Another good sleep, another 7:00am wake up. By 7:30am, we were downstairs at Lengkuas Restaurant again. Breakfast wrapped at 8:00am, and after changing into work clothes and kissing Cat goodbye, I headed out to the branch.
Day Two — Smooth Sailing
Twenty minutes later, I arrived and settled in. With the branch at full force, the morning crowd was easy work compared to yesterday.
Day Two — Lunch at Manzur Capati
At lunch, off-camera Yus took me to the original spot: Manzur Capati beside Masjid Nagore. The old stall was buzzing. We ordered Ayam Berempah, Mutton Curry, two white rice, and one shared capati for RM27.00 (≈ USD7/EUR6). We returned with ten minutes to spare, and the afternoon breezed by. I left at 5:30pm and made the short drive back to the hotel.
Day Two — Dinner at Dede Mode
After resting, we stepped out at 7:00pm and settled on Dede Mode again. We had Fried Kueh Teow with Egg Gravy, Fried Wanton Mee with Egg Gravy, Iced Soy Milk, and Iced Sugarcane & Water Chestnut for RM30.30 (≈ USD7/EUR6). A short stroll later, we were back in our room, calling it a night.
Final Scene — Quick Turnaround Ahead
Stay tuned for the next video as we catch another Firefly flight to Kuala Lumpur. It’s a tight turnaround — barely enough time to breathe — because soon after landing, we’re flying out again to celebrate Brendan’s birthday.

AOR Day 2 │ Relief Stint Begins • Sayang Tomyam • Dede Moda Restaurant!
I woke up at 7:20am, the room still quiet. Half an hour later, I stepped out while Cat chose to sleep in. Breakfast at Lengkuas Restaurant was simple and peaceful — just moi, a quiet dining room, and a slow start to the day.
Breakfast and the Drive to the Branch
By 7:50am, I was already heading down to the lobby. Lengkuas wasn’t busy, so I enjoyed a light spread with coffee before wrapping up at 8:15am. Then it was off to the basement to pick up the loaner car. The drive to Alor Setar branch was smooth and uneventful, and twenty minutes later, I arrived.
Settling In
The branch was already open when I walked in. We exchanged greetings, said hello to an old friend, and settled into my workspace. An hour later, work began — steady and focused — carrying me right through the morning.
Lunch at Sayang Tomyam 3
By lunchtime, I was ready for a break. We took a short stroll to Sayang Tomyam 3, where I found a surprise: Oxtail Soup on the menu. Paired with a plain omelette, rice, and Iced Nescafe, my first Alor Setar lunch came to RM23.50 (≈ USD6/EUR5).
Afternoon Errands & Round Two
With a bit of time left, I hopped into the loaner car and crossed the road to a Petronas station before getting the car washed and vacuumed. I returned to the branch by 2:00pm, where a fresh group of applicants awaited. Work continued nonstop until 5:00pm.
Drive Back to the Hotel
At 5:30pm, I left AKPK Alor Setar. The mid week traffic was gentle, the sun low and warm, and the roads calm. A few shoplots, a glimpse of paddy fields, and soon Grand Alora Hotel appeared ahead — a quick, easy glide into the evening.
Dinner at Dede Moda
Back at the hotel, I reunited with Cat. After a shower and short rest, we headed out at 7:00pm for dinner at Dede Moda, the Chinese restaurant right beside the hotel. It offered a fun mix of Hong Kong café classics and Malaysian comfort dishes — simple, fast, and fuss free.
What We Ordered
Our picks for the night:
- Fried Wanton Mee with Egg Gravy
- Claypot Lou Shu Fan
- Citrus & Plum Iced Tea
- Jasmine Tea with Jelly & Lychee
- French Toast with Ham & Cheese
Closing the Day
After dinner, we stopped by the convenience store next door for munchies before heading back to our room. After the exertion of yesterday and today, we hoped for an early night.
Stay tuned for another day of financial advisory!
