SKH Day 1 │ Loong Hua Seafood!

Seafood!

We left the hotel at six in the evening and hopped into BiBi, making the five-minute drive to our dinner destination. Barely a kilometer away we contemplated taking a walk there but the lack of proper sidewalks dissuaded us.

Located within Sekinchan's fishing village Loong Hua Seafood Restaurant was familiar to us, having previously been here in August 2020. We knew that parking was limited so we made sure to be here early.

It is known to be the oldest seafood restaurant in Sekinchan, and we liked its location next to the fishing boat jetty. We sat and watched fishermen busy with their work, fishing boats passed by the restaurant. Loong Hua is also known for maintaining the traditional Sekinchan fishing village cooking style.

We carefully perused their menu before ordering the:

  • Signature Fried Bee Hoon with Crab
  • Deep Fried Cuttlefish
  • A jug of Chinese Tea

Our riveting riverside dinner came to RM125.00 (approximately USD30/EUR25). IN all honesty it was a bit pricey considering the seafood feasts that we've been having in Kuching and Kuala Terengganu before this.

We then hopped back into BiBi and drove back to the hotel, parked then walked over to Sri Kassim Supermart to get some cold drinks and tidbits.

Stay tuned for the next video as we have breakfast while sorting out laundry!

KCH Day 2 │ Peach Garden Food Centre!

Change of Plans!

We picked you up again after our morning drive to UNIMAS then brunch at Premier Food Republic over at Bandar Riyal. We spent the entire day at home as I began work on our videos, while Cat busied herself with laundry. Lunchtime came and went but we were not hungry.

We continued to chill at the homestay and in that time It began to rain at about three in the afternoon. We were weighing our options for dinner either at Rock Road Restaurant or Topspot Food Court which was open-air dining, both seafood joints recommended by a colleague of mine at our Kuching office.

The continual rain meant that we opted for Rock Road Seafood over at Jalan Rock (naturally). We hopped into the rental car late in the evening and made the 10-minute drive over to Rock Road Seafood. Alas when we got there the restaurant was closed for the next three days.

We then made a few calls before finding a seafood joint that was open over at Jalan Song. We then made our way to Xin Kwong Chin Seafood, but as soon as we got there we were tempted away by the aroma wafting from a food court nearby.

Peach Garden Food Centre boasts a very wide selection of cuisine too plentiful to list down. I took a stroll around with the DJI Pocket 3 and hope that the footage will help paint our words.  Our very first time here, we carefully surveilled each stall before settling on:

  • Sausage Fried Rice
  • Sambal Sotong with Rice
  • Sayur Manis
  • Chicken Wings
  • 2 glasses of Kedondong Juice

Our second dinner in Kuching came to RM58.00 (approximately USD14/EUR12) and again mindful of the fact that I was driving no alcohol was consumed. Before we left we got 3 packets of cut fruit for RM29.00 (approximately USD7/EUR6) which in our minds was a little pricey.

We then made the short drive back to Adelyn's homestay where I continued working on our videos while Cat started another load of laundry.

Stay tuned for the next video as we headed to the vicinity of the Waterfront for breakfast and a 'little' errand!

Exploring BANDUNG │ Braga Street • Sudirman Street

First Walkabout in Bandung!

We picked you up again after checking into our Airbnb. As Cat busied herself with laundry I began sorting the footage from today. We then took a nap as we waited for our laundry to be done.

Laundry sorted we left the Airbnb at a quarter past five taking a walk along Jalan Tera before turning left at El Hotel onto Jalan Merdeka. We then turned right onto Jalan Lembong before a final left turn onto the famed Jalan Braga.

Turned out the street was congested with pedestrians on both sides so we quickly ducked into Braga CItywalk but found the place underwhelming.

We headed out to Braga Street again to brave the droves of pedestrians and walked to its end. We stopped to ponder our next move and decided to walk back to the Airbnb. We got a little lost but found our way back to Jalan Tera, and Tamansari Tera Residence.

Here we sat and decided on giving Sudirman Street Day & Night Market a try so we hailed a fixed fare Bluebird taxi for IDR32,000 (approximately MYR9/USD2/EUR2). The driver informed us the reason for the congestion: Indonesia was enjoying a 5-day weekend, starting from Saturday January 25th right up to this Wednesday January 29th to celebrate both Isra and Mi'raj as well as Imlek (Lunar New Year).

Soon as we arrived an array of red lanterns greeted us. We knew we were in for a good time with the first wafts of smoke billowing from the nearest wok!

Barely a hundred meters in we came across Sedap Purwakarta, claiming to serve the best Chinese food since 1970.

We parked our butts in front of their stall and at their recommendation ordered the:

  • Nasi Ayam Kuluyuk (sweet & sour chicken with rice)
  • Nasi Bistik Sapi (beef steak with rice?)

While we waited for our food to be ready I walked around and ordered Cakue (Yutiao) from a stall across our table. I ordered both the original and “legend” variants.

I then walked in search of beverages and got a lemonade as well as a passion fruit juice from the unfriendly Wedrink stall.

Cat finally added a bowl of Ronde Kuah Gula Merah from the Ronde Jahe Senly stall also across from our table.

Our first dinner in Bandung, at our first “food court” in Bandung came to a respectable IDR167,000 (MYR45/USD10/EUR10).

After dinner we took a stroll around to check out the various and plentiful variety of food stalls here.

We then hailed a Bluebird taxi for an eventual fare of IDR40,000 (approximately MYR9/USD2/EUR2) back to the Airbnb.

Steps count at the end of our third day: 10,976!

Boxing Day│ Ayam Garam Xiang Peng Peng!

Boxing Day!

We slept in again, I arose at nine to work on the footage of the last few days.

Cat woke up soon after while Brendan arose at eleven. We all got ready and left the hotel at a quarter to twelve and walked a short distance along Jalan Penang.

We were headed in the same direction as yesterday, but this time had plans for lunch across the road from CEKI.

Touted as "A healthy, gluten-free, and home-made Salted Chicken prepared from a traditional recipe that has been created and existed for more than 100 years old" Xiang Peng Peng Salted Chicken caught our attention when we came across its Instagram post. We walked in at noon and had the place to ourselves, so we scanned their diminutive menu and quickly settled on:

  • Half a Chicken of the Original Flavour
  • Stir Fried Roasted Pork
  • Plain Omelette
  • Pork Ribs Soup
  • 1 Kumquat Sour Plum
  • 2 Coca-Cola

Our unique lunch came to a respectable RM110.00 (approximately USD25/EUR24), which was a little pricey by our reckoning.

We then made the short walk back to the hotel.

Christmas Day │ New World Park Food City!

Christmas Day!

We had initially planned on Christmas dinner at a hot pot restaurant but decided against it. After two lavish meals in a row, Choux Choux last night and CEKI Nyonya this afternoon we were badly in need of something a little more down to earth.

New World Park Food City appealed mightily to us  so we left the hotel at a quarter to seven and walked northwest along Jalan Transfer for about ten minutes. The food court was brightly lit and very hard to miss, and after checking out each stall we eventually settled on:

  • 2 plates of Char Koay  Teow for RM8.00 each
  • 1 large serving of Lor Bak for RM12.50
  • Grilled Lamb with Curly Fries for RM30.00
  • 1 medium plate of Rojak Buah for RM9.00
  • 2 glasses of Sour Plum for RM7.00
  • 2 cans of Lemon Juice for RM5.90

for a grand total of RM93.30 (approximately USD21/EUR20) which is relatively reasonable given our recent splurge over the past few meals. As Cat and Brendan sat and waited to be served I took a walk around to check out each stall. We hope the footage will help you appreciate the vastness of this food court.

We enjoyed ourselves here at this bustling food court as we ate and people-watched. After dinner for a change in scenery we took a different route back, exiting onto Jalan Burma headed southeast before eventually turning left onto Jalan Transfer. We then walked across and turned right onto Jalan Hutton and were back at the hotel in no time at all.

Be sure to catch our next video as we check out a salted chicken restaurant!

Christmas Day │ CEKI Nyonya Restaurant and Beyond!

Christmas Day!

We slept in and arose at half Past nine. As is the case on Christmas Day in Penang we made reservations for lunch at a Nyonya restaurant nearby.

We all got ready and left the hotel at 11:35am to make the ten-minute walk to the restaurant situated along Jalan Bahari.

Two years ago we had dinner to celebrate Cat's birthday at Bibik's Kitchen Nyonya Cuisine; last year we celebrated Cat's birthday at BaBa Phang. It was only natural for us to complete the trifecta of Nyonya restaurants along Jalan Bahari with our visit to CEKI Nyonya Restaurant today.

We were amazed by the decor soon as we walked in, and I got a little carried taking photos of the interior.

We carefully perused the menu before settling on:

  • Assam Pedas Fish
  • Tau Ewe (Thick Soy Sauce) Bak
  • Plain Omelette
  • Tetae Lemak (Sweet Potato Leaves)
  • Rendang Beef
  • 2 Lemongrass Juice
  • 1 Coca-Cola

Our traditional Straits Settlement Christmas lunch came to RM332.20 (approximately USD74/EUR71).

We settled the bill then walked a short distance to the bus stop in front of 7 Eleven along Jalan Penang. Here we caught a free CAT bus to KOMTAR to renew our Mutiara bus pass. I then walked into Maybank to replenish our Federal Reserves before walking across KOMTAR to catch a Rapid Penang #101 bus back to Jalan Transfer.

We alighted at the Wisma MCA stop and walked a short distance to Mydin Emporium to pick up some provisions before returning to our hotel to get out of the intense heat.

Putrajaya to KL │ Yuen Chun Heong BKT

Going home!

After the exertions of last night I slept in and arose at nine this morning.

I began packing up and woke the rest up to get ready. I took one final sweeping footage of the Airbnb before leaving, and by the time we deposited the unit's key cards back into the mailbox it was ten to eleven. We then punched in our destination for an early lunch at a restaurant in Seri Kembangan.

Brendan left first with Puteh, while we settled the key deposit with BiBi.

We arrived at Yuen Chun Heong Bak Kut Teh Restaurant twenty minutes later, and quickly settled on:

  • 2 servings of Bak Kut Teh soup
  • 1 serving of dry Bak Kut Teh
  • 3 servings of Yam rice
  • 2 servings of Yu Tiao
  • 3 glasses of Iced Chinese Tea
  • (Brendan later added) 1 Coca-Cola

Bak Kut Teh is a popular pork rib dish cooked gently in a complex broth of herbs and spices for hours and is a national heritage food of Malaysia. While Bak Kut Teh translates to “meat bone tea”, no tea is used in its preparation. Rather, the “tea” refers to the Chinese tea that is traditionally served alongside the dish.

Our herb-infused lunch came to RM84.40 (approximately USD19/EUR18).

We then resumed our drive and reached home at a quarter to one. We will be heading to Penang for Christmas a week from now, so please stay tuned!

Restoran SEREMBAN Seafood Village

Seremban!

We picked you up again after checking into Arena Premier Boutique Hotel and settled in for the afternoon. With the very generous portions of food from Toast House Kitchen still percolating in our perut it was not until half past eight that we emerged from our room in search of dinner.

Top on the list is Restoran Seremban Seafood Village. Known for its Grilled or Baked Crab among the locals, we knew that we had to give it a try. We hailed a Grab car for a fare of RM6.00 (approximately USD/EUR1) that dropped us off at its unique entrance which has a flight of staircase that led us down to the dining area.

We perused the menu and after some consideration ordered the:

  • Kam Heong Fried Crabs
  • Fu Yong Omelette
  • 2 White Rice
  • 1 Herbal Tea
  • 1 small Heineken

Our seafood dinner that unfortunately attracted a service tax still came to a respectable  RM164.75 (approximately USD35/EUR32), with the crab alone costing us RM120.00 (approximately USD35/EUR32).

We then hailed another Grab car back to the hotel for a fare of  RM5.00 (approximately USD26/EUR24).

LU YEH YEN Again!

Old favourite!

Our last night in Melaka and we only had one place on our minds. Our previous video of two years ago generated a lot of interest so we thought it was time to pay them another visit.

We left the homestay at a quarter past six in the evening and as always walked along Lorong Haji Bachee headed west. At the end of the road we walked across Jalan Bendahara onto Jalan Bunga Raya Pantai and continued south for a few hundred meters.

Lu Yeh Yen is on the left of the street, and nothing about it has changed. We perused the diminutive and concise menu before settling on:

  • Ginger & Onion Fried Pork
  • Lemon Chicken
  • Salted Vegetable Soup
  • Plain Omelette
  • 2 Iced Chinese Tea

Our savoury dinner came to RM50.00 (approximately USD11/EUR10), an absolute steal by KL standards.

We then made our way back to the homestay to begin packing, for tomorrow we’re driving back to Kuala Lumpur!

WANG SENG Seafood: Dinner with Jacob

Dinner with Jacob!

After the river cruise we hopped back into the rental car and drove a distance away to Wang Seng Seafood for dinner with Brendan's old roommate from college. We first met Jacob when Brendan first registered as a freshman with Cempaka College in UNIMAS, way back in September 2019.

Midway through the second semester UNIMAS along with the nation went into lockdown, and we have not met Jacob since, even missing him during Brendan's convocation ceremony last November.

So when we met with Jacob at Wang Seng Seafood they had a lot of catching to do, so while they reminisced about old times we perused the menu and eventually settled on:

  • the Butter Mushroom (at Jacob’s recommendation)
  • Charcoal Crispy Pork Belly
  • Assorted Vegetables in Yam Basket
  • Lemongrass Fried Pork
  • Midin Belacan
  • Deep Fried Squid
  • 4 White Rice
  • 1 Iced Lemon Tea
  • 2 Air Mata Kuching Longan Drink
  • 2 Coca Cola

Our first proper dinner in Kuching came to RM167.70 (approximately USD35/EUR33), and it was again an experience not to be missed especially when dining with old acquaintances. Jacob was disappointed that we would not be staying on till Gawai since he was excited to show us around the most important festival of the year for the Ibans, even eclipsing Christmas!

We then bade our fond farewell with a promise to try to come back for next year's Gawai, then headed back to Adelyn's homestay for settle in for the night.

Stay tuned for our next video where we hoped to try our luck again with authentic Bario cuisine for lunch!

AH LIONG Cafe

Local Cuisine!

After our photo shoot at The Attic Studio we hopped back into the rental car and made another short drive to Ah Liong Cafe.

Remember Cat's favourite beadstress Carolyn? Well, her sister runs a food stall here called Mummy's and Mama's Home Cooking.

Eager to try authentic Bario cuisine we were disappointed to find Mummy's & Mama's Home Cooking closed. No matter for Ah Liong Cafe had plenty more to offer so we browsed the various food stalls here before settling on:

  • Brendan's Char Kueh Teow for RM10.00
  • Cat's Kampua Mee for RM5.00
  • My Beef Noodles for RM12.00
  • My Kolok Mee for RM5.00
  • 3 Three Layer Iced Tea for RM3.00 each
  • 2 Coca Cola for RM2.60 each

Our first lunch in a local food court in Kuching came to RM40.20 (approximately USD/EUR8). We then made our way back to Adelyn's homestay but the rental car was low on fuel. After a bit of a runaround we managed to locate a Shell petrol station and filled her up.

AIK KEE Bentong: A Revisit!

AIK KEE Bentong!

We awoke from our long afternoon siesta at six in the evening, and left the hotel half an hour later.

We meant to have dinner at Loong Foong Restaurant for a change but it was sadly fully booked for an event organised by a local temple.

We then turned to our default restaurant in Bentong, Aik Kee Restaurant. They had updated their menu since the last time so w took our time perusing the menu before settling on:

  • Squid in Yam Basket
  • Dried Chilli Pork
  • Salted Vegetable Soup
  • Plain Omelette
  • 3 White Rice
  • Deep Fried Tilapia
  • 1 soft drink

for a grand total of RM139.90 (approximately USD29/EUR27). Aik Kee never disappoints, and we settled our reasonably priced dinner with glee.

OK TUCK Steamboat Restaurant: 10 Years Later!

After our brief visit to the Big Red Strawberry Farm we took a walk to the main thoroughfare of Brinchang town. A short while later we had arrived at our dinner destination, the perennial favourite OK Tuck Steamboat Restaurant.

Since we already had steamboat last night this time around we perused the menu and settled on:

  • Chicken in Dried Chillies
  • Pork Ribs in Guiness Stout
  • Fried Eggplant
  • Salted Vegetable Soup
  • Omelette with Shrimp
  • Plain Omelette
  • a round of Chinese Tea

We could hardly believe that it's been ten years since we were last here. The main reason why we keep coming back is the pork rib beer (sic) which we take to mean pork ribs marinated in Guiness Stout. We’ve been hunting high and low for the same dish in the Klang valley but to no avail. We’ll let the footage paint the words for us.

Our early dinner came to RM97.00 (approximately USD21/EUR19). We then hailed a Grab car back to the Airbnb in Tanah Rata.

C BUDDY Steamboat: TANAH RATA Evening Stroll

 Steam boat!

We picked you up again after checking into the Airbnb. Deprived of sleep we took a long nap and awoke at half past six in the evening.

We initially planned to have dinner at a restaurant in the town of Brinchang nearby but with no Grab drivers available we made alternate plans.

We wandered around Tanah Rata for a while before ending up back at Cameron Fair. Cat spotted a steam boat restaurant at the first floor so we made our way up to C Buddy Steamboat.

We were seated and asked to scan a QR  to begin ordering. While I busied myself setting up the time-lapse Brendan and Cat perused the online menu and settled on:

  • Two-flavoured pot of Tom Yam and Corn Soup
  • Platter 1 of Prawns, Fish, Chicken Meat, Pork Slices and Minced Pork
  • 2 bowls of Rice
  • a bowl of Udon Noodles
  • a jug of Chrysanthemum Tea

Our dinner came to RM119.15 (approximately USD25/EUR23). After dinner we walked down to Oldtown White Coffee and took away:

  • 2 Hot Hazelnut Coffee
  • 2 Iced Honey Lemon
  • Kaya and Butter Toast
  • Peanut Butter Toast
  • French Toast

for RM65.90 (approximately USD14/EUR13). We then dropped by a MyNEWS store to get some snacks and headed back up to the Airbnb where I began sorting and organising the footage from today.

We plan to visit a tea plantation bright and early tomorrow morning, so please stay tuned!

DA LONG YI Hotpot: Bukit Bintang

It's Chap Goh Meh!

We picked you up again after the heavy downpour subsided, as we headed to dinner at a place just a few minutes’ walk away from our Airbnb. To commemorate this auspicious day we booked a table at Da Long Yi Hotpot, although Brendan unfortunately was not able to join us since he had plans with his varsity friends.

Our first time to a Hotpot restaurant we were eager for a new experience. Its website proclaimed: "Let The World Fall In Love With Chengdu Flavour" and we can say with no uncertain terms that we did!

A heavy downpour meant that we arrived later than planned but they were gracious enough to hold onto our reservation.

Being our first time here we carefully perused the menu before deciding on:

  • half portion of Belgium Iberico Pork Slice
  • half portion of Kurobuta Pork Belly Slice
  • a Pork Shoulder slice
  • Handmade Mushroom Pork Meatballs
  • Handmade Fish Balls
  • Handmade Water Chestnut Pork Balls
  • Deep Fried Bean curd
  • Enoki Mushrooms
  • Baby Cabbage
  • Abalone Fried Rice
  • a can of Tiandi Apple Vanilla

We will let our footage "paint a thousand words" as we spent a memorable evening here.

Our excellent Chengdu dinner came to RM228.40 (approximately USD48/EUR44) that included SST of RM11.81, Service Charge of RM19.69 and Dine-In Charge of RM6.00 each. A little pricey by our standards but well worth it.

Precious Old China: Sa Cap Meh Dinner

Chinese New Year Eve!

In the Hokkien dialect today is known as Sa Cap Meh (which literally means "thirtieth night") and it refers to the eve of Chinese New Year.

Last year we had our Sa Cap Meh dinner at Kocik Heritage in Melaka, this year we will be having our dinner closer to home.

We checked into Pacific Express Hotel Central Market and planned to walk over to Old Precious China for our Sa Cap Meh dinner later in the evening. We have been to Central Market many times but did not notice this diminutive restaurant, which we found on Tripadvisor.

Its website states: "Located in Kuala Lumpur’s Central Market, Precious Old China restaurant & bar offers a quaint dining experience amidst Malaysian antiques and vintage Colonial furniture."

We made reservations for 7:00pm and purchased the RM100 cash voucher (approximately USD21/EUR20) for a 2-3 pax Nyonya Set Course through the FunNow mobile app. At the appointed hour we walked from the hotel to Central Market next door.

We entered the restaurant and was greeted no one? Everyone seemed busy so we waited quite a while we were shown to our table.

We took our time with the menu and eventually ordered:

  • Devil Curry Chicken
  • Ikan Api Api
  • Belacan Four-King Bean
  • Plain Omelette
  • a bowl of Butterfly Pea Rice
  • a pot of Jasmine Chinese Tea

Our Nyonya meal that included a service charge of 10% as well as a service tax of 6% came to RM135.50 (approximately USD28/EUR26). Since we had already purchased a RM100.00 (approximately USD21/EUR20) with the FunNow mobile app beforehand we only needed to pay the difference of RM35.50 (approximately USD8/EUR7).

We then went back up to our rooms to change into more comfortable attire before we began our night stroll. Be sure to catch our upcoming video as we take a stroll to the River of Life and beyond!

CHENG HO Hawker Centre

Diarrhea!

For the third time in as many days we found ourselves at Cheng Ho Hawker Centre for lunch. My perut was still quite sore from the 'disturbances' earlier in the morning so we both decided to have rice porridge here.

This time around we filmed our excursion here. Interestingly enough, the Chicken Rice Ball stall that we tried to visit yesterday and the day before was still not open for business.

I was especially thankful for the rice porridge since I did not have an appetite for much else here.

Cat had the normal rice porridge while I opted for the plain variant, just to be safe. Each bowl cost RM7.00 (approximately USD1.50/EUR1.40) and together with drinks our very simple meal came to only RM20.00 (approximately USD/EUR4).

Lunch out of the way we then drove back to the Airbnb where I spent the rest of the day under the covers.

Tomorrow we head back to Kuala Lumpur 😔

RIVER VIEW Seafood Restaurant

Seafood again!

We were spending a night in Kuala Selangor, and after our seafood lunch at Restoran Makanan Laut Jeti earlier in the day we decided on another round of seafood.

Why? Because When in Rome, do as the Romans do. So when in Pasir Penambang, we enjoy fresh seafood.

We first tried the restaurant beside the hotel where we stayed but were unsure if they were open. So we walked to the same area where we had lunch, and right beside it stood River View Seafood Restaurant. We read good things about this restaurant and knew we had to give it a try.

Just like Restoran Makanan Laut Jeti this restaurant too sat on the banks of the Selangor and had an awesome riverside view as well. As always we carefully perused the menu before finally deciding on:

  • 1 plate of Butter Prawns for RM27.00
  • 3-in-1 Steamed Red Snapper for RM33.60
  • Fuyong Egg (Omelette) for RM12.00
  • 1 jar of Apple Juice for RM17.00 each
  • 2 servings of Plain Rice for RM1.30 each

This time our seafood spread came to RM92.20 (approximately USD/EUR19) which was a little cheaper, but taste wise was more in tune with our palate. The sunset was simply awesome, and River View has now become our new favourite seafood restaurant.

Thus ends our seafood extravanganza, please stay tuned for more eating escapades in our videos to come!

Restoran Makanan Laut JETI

Seafood!

We came to Kuala Selangor with the sole purpose of experiencing fresh seafood. With that in mind the first thing we did after arriving in Pasir Penambang was to head to the first seafood restaurant we could find.

Of course the fact that Restoran Makanan Laut Jeti sat on the banks of the Selangor river helped us make up our minds as well. After a long while perusing their menu we decided on:

  • Assam Steamed Jenahak [Snapper] for RM56.00
  • Nyonya Styled Squid for RM22.00
  • Oyster Pancake for RM18.00
  • 3 servings of Plain Rice for RM1.50 each
  • 1 pot of Chinese Tea for RM4.50

Our lunctime seafood spread came to RM110.80 (approximately USD/EUR23) which was a little steep by our standards, but taking into account the Snapper cost half the bill put things into perspective.

We will be having seafood for dinner as well, so please stay tuned!

The JETTY Food Court

Time for dinner!

The whole point of going on our walkabout this evening was to have dinner here at The Jetty Food Court. Cat read about the rave reviews it received from the online community, so it naturally piqued our interest.

Alas not very many stalls were open on a Monday evening, and we made do with the stalls that were available. We eventually settled on:

  • Char Kueh Teow for RM5.00
  • Fried Chicken for RM10.00
  • Wanton Mee for RM6.00
  • Sotong Kangkung for RM13.00
  • Vietnamese Spring Rolls for RM10.00
  • Dry Bak Kut Teh for RM16.00
  • Yam Rice for RM2.00
  • Drinks (including a large bottle of Heineken) for RM27.50

Our sumptuous Penang dinner came to RM89.50 (approximately USD/EUR20) which in our minds was very reasonably. If I had a bone to pick it would be about the Dry Bak Kut Teh that I had, which was a little to salty. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would not hesitate to recommend The Jetty Food Court to anyone seeking a quick and easy way to sample the local cuisine.

Lastly, we feel that it is our civic duty to remind everyone that while masks are now optional outdoors, it is still mandatory indoors!
