TGG Day 2 │ Adik Beradik Sri Kolam Seafood!

Craving Ikan Celup Tepung

Even after a long day of home improvements, we still had energy for a local favourite: seafood dipped in flour and deep fried. The dish is called Ikan Celup Tepung (ICT). Despite the name, it includes more than just fish — prawns, squid, and other seafood get the same crispy treatment.

Driving to Kampung Teliput

We hopped into BiBi and drove half an hour to Kampung Teliput. Our destination was Warung Adik Beradik Sri Kolam Seafood, a spot famous for its unbeatable views of the South China Sea. Getting there also meant crossing the Terengganu Drawbridge, something we always enjoy.

Traffic was heavy and slow, but we eventually reached the restaurant. With only thirty minutes left before closing at 7:00pm, we quickly ordered:

• 10 sticks of Keropok Lekor
• a skewer of Prawns
• one Ikan Kembung (Chub Mackerel)
• a round of drinks

Everything came to RM31 (about USD7/EUR6). Like many eateries in Kuala Terengganu, the restaurant closed early to make way for Isha prayers.

Evening Errands

We took a relaxed drive back, avoiding the congested coastal road near the drawbridge. On the way, we stopped at Mr DIY along Jalan Tengku Ampuan Mariam for some essentials, which came to RM119.10 (about USD28/EUR24). We also picked up a deodorant from the 7 Eleven on Jalan Pejabat.

We reached the home at 8:30pm and spent a couple of hours there before returning to the rest house to shower and wind down for the night.

Ending the Day

It was a simple evening, but exactly the kind of local experience we always look forward to when we’re back in Kuala Terengganu.

Stay tuned for our next video as we try to have breakfast at our perennial favourite chicken rice shop, Chuan Kee.
