HDY Day 2 │ Robinson's • In Waii Massage • Odean!

Laundry Done, Robinson’s Next

We emerged at 6pm, fresh from completing two loads of laundry, and hailed a Grab to Robinson’s for THB105 (≈ MYR13/USD3/EUR3). A cool EV picked us up, gliding us there by 6:10pm. We browsed the ground floor briefly before heading upstairs for a proper wander.

Skechers Swap & Baoji Bonus

Truth be told, my white Skechers were giving me trouble — not true Slip-Ins, and lacking the usual cushioning. So I finally upgraded to Skechers running Slip-Ins for THB2,443 (≈ MYR304/USD74/EUR64). The difference was instant; I wore them out of the store and boxed the old pair immediately.

Cat picked up her own pair of Baoji sneakers for THB895 (≈ MYR111/USD27/EUR24) — comfy, clean, and perfect for Hat Yai strolls.

Tops Price Check

We headed down to Tops for a quick browse, but the Madam Heng herbal soap remained pricier than the ones we’d bought at Makro earlier. A good reminder that morning shopping pays off.

In Waii Redemption Massage

Done with Robinson’s, we crossed Thumnoonvithi Road into In Waii Health Massage for a relaxing 1.5 hour foot massage at THB500 (≈ MYR62/USD15/EUR14) each. New, clean, bright — and miles better than last night’s fiasco.

Last Night’s Scam Recap

At Yerboh Aoratai, we’d enjoyed a solid one hour massage for THB200 (≈ MYR25/USD6/EUR5) each. But at payment time, they insisted on charging in Ringgit. Instead of THB400 (≈ MYR49/USD12/EUR10) total, they demanded RM60 (≈ THB488/USD15/EUR13). A shameless, avoid at-all-costs con.

Tonight’s massage felt like redemption.

Odean Finale & Night Market Stroll

We stepped out at 8:45pm, invigorated, and walked into Odean for our final mini spree — snacks and toiletries for THB1,010 (≈ MYR126/USD31/EUR27).

With bags in hand, we strolled along Saneha Nusorn Road toward the Lee Gardens Night Market, then turned east onto Prachatipat Road and north onto Sangchan Road, enjoying Hat Yai’s lively evening rhythm.

Charmpoon Dinner & Tuk Tuk Ride

We eventually reached Duangchan Road, where Charmpoon Restaurant (ร้านประชาชื่น Prachachuen Shop?) caught our eye. We ordered:

  • Minced Meat with Fried Egg & Rice
  • Crispy Meat with Fried Egg & Rice
  • Iced Green Tea
  • Iced Thai Tea
  • Mixed Shaved Ice
  • Longan Shaved Ice

All for THB360 (≈ MYR45/USD11/EUR10) — simple, comforting, perfect.

With dinner done, we booked a tuk tuk for THB140 (≈ MYR17/USD4/EUR4) back to Lee Mansion. Pricey, but the breezy night ride made it worth it.

Border Crossing Teaser — The Sticky Return

Stay tuned for the next video, where we drive back across the border to Alor Setar. Our massive Hat Yai haul didn’t go unnoticed — at Bukit Kayu Hitam ICQS, BiBi’s fully loaded boot invited a closer look, making the crossing a little sticky. But all was well in the end, and the road home awaited!
