KCH Day 6 │ Kuching Night Stroll!

A Night Stroll Along Kuching Waterfront

After our exquisite dinner at Lepau Restaurant on Jalan Ban Hock, we knew we needed to walk off the calories. So we drove to the Kuching Waterfront, the city’s iconic riverside promenade known for its history, food stalls, cultural landmarks, and the stunning Darul Hana Bridge.

We managed to find parking beside a mosque and began our stroll.

The Waterfront at Night

One of our favourite features of the Darul Hana Bridge is the S shaped Golden Anniversary Bridge — a 330 metre pedestrian bridge supported by two 45 metre high cables anchored to outward angled steel towers topped with stylised hornbills. It’s dramatic in the day, magical at night.

We didn’t walk the bridge this time — you can catch that in our previous video — so we continued along the southern bank of the Sarawak River instead.

We walked all the way to the Hornbill Fountain before turning back. Along the way, we even managed to “experience enchantment at the Darul Hana Musical Fountain,” capturing a few minutes of the water music lights show dancing across the river.

Wrapping Up the Night

Once we made it back to the car, we drove to Adelyn’s homestay and slowly began packing away our bounty from the past several days — textiles, spices, cakes, souvenirs, and everything in between.
