Mall-Hopping Sunday │ RAPIDKL Bus Hopping

A Quiet Bus Ride Weekend

COVID 19 cases had been rising sharply across Malaysia. Just a week earlier, the daily numbers crossed into five figures, and they kept climbing. With reports of 22,802 new cases and an R number of 1.51, it was clear things were getting serious again.

So for most of the week, we stayed home.

A Small Escape

By the weekend, we felt the need to step out—nothing major, just something simple to stretch our legs.

Brendan was away at a small slumber party with friends, so it was just the two of us.

We walked over to the MyRapid bus terminal opposite Jakel Mall, and within minutes, we found ourselves boarding a double decker RapidKL bus #300 headed toward Avenue K.

It had been a long time since we last took a bus—especially since the pandemic began—so we were a little cautious. Thankfully, the bus was almost empty, which made the ride feel safe and comfortable.

A Stop at Avenue K

At Avenue K, we stopped by MAX Fashion to see if we could find a few new t shirts. It was a quick browse, nothing too serious, before we moved on.

Onward to Ampang Point

We then boarded another bus #300, this time heading toward Ampang Point. Once again, the bus was largely empty—something we quietly appreciated.
Our destination? A familiar Korean restaurant for an early lunch.

A Simple Afternoon

After lunch, we popped into Mr DIY for a few small items before catching yet another bus #300, this time in the opposite direction toward home.

This bus was slightly busier—but still manageable.

A Pleasant Surprise

All in all, we were pleasantly surprised by the experience.

  • The buses were clean
  • Boarding was simple
  • And best of all, we managed to get the front seats on the upper deck each time

It felt almost like we had the bus to ourselves.

Final Thoughts

For anyone living nearby and heading toward Ampang, we couldn’t recommend RapidKL bus #300 enough.

It was:

  • Affordable
  • Comfortable
  • And surprisingly enjoyable

Sometimes, all it took was a simple bus ride to break the routine—and that was exactly what we needed.

Stay safe, and we’ll see you in the next one! 🚍✨
