It’s the Second Day of Chinese New Year!
After our rather indulgent lunch earlier in the day, we made our way to Plaza Damas to run a few errands. Cat needed to pick up some items from Mercato and Caring Pharmacy, while I had something of my own lined up.
A Visit to the Barber
About half an hour later, we arrived, and I headed straight to a humble little barber shop simply called “Kedai Gunting Rambut”—which quite literally meant “Barber Shop.”
The place was run by Kumar, a friendly and efficient proprietor, alongside Santhosh, who had become my go to barber over the past few years.
A Familiar Cut
I had been coming here regularly, and over time, I’d grown accustomed to Santhosh’s style. It was one of those small comforts—knowing exactly what to expect and trusting the person behind the chair.
As always, he did a great job.
For just RM35 (≈ USD8 / EUR7), it was a simple, no frills haircut that felt both familiar and reliable.
A Recommendation
If you happened to be in the area and were in need of:
- A decent haircut
- A quick shave
- Friendly service
…we would definitely recommend paying Kumar and Santhosh a visit.
Sometimes, it wasn’t about fancy salons—it was about finding a place that did things right, consistently. And this was one of them.
