Mall-Hopping Sunday │ GOMONAE Korean Restaurant

A Korean Favourite — Korea Gomonae

Without a doubt, Korea Gomonae had been our firm favourite when it came to Korean cuisine for the longest time.

Despite its small and somewhat cramped space, and the absence of barbecue facilities, we kept coming back again and again. There was something about its simplicity that worked.

A Taste of Authenticity

The restaurant was run by a Korean ahjumma (a middle aged Korean lady), and that alone gave us confidence that the food stayed true to its roots.

With fewer than 10 tables, seating was limited, so we made sure to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Our Usual Order

True to form, we didn’t stray far from our favourites:

  • Jjajangmyeon (noodles with black bean sauce) – RM20.00
  • Dak Bulgogi (marinated sliced chicken) – RM22.00
  • Hot coffee – RM5.00
  • Coca Cola – RM4.00

The total came to RM51.00 (≈ USD12/EUR11).

Worth It?

We were happy that there was no service charge, though we did feel the total was a little on the higher side for such a simple setup.

That said, Korean cuisine wasn’t something we had every day, and we didn’t mind paying a bit more for something we enjoyed.

Final Thoughts

For us:

  • The Jjajangmyeon remained a firm favourite
  • Cat still loved the Bulgogi dishes

It was the kind of place where the food spoke for itself, even if the surroundings were modest.

And without a doubt—we’ll be back again. 🍜✨
