Saturday Amble │ The CURVE • NU Sentral!

Off to Discover Borneo

Cat’s favourite beadstress, Caroline, was in town for The Curve’s Discover Borneo exhibition, running from 4 July until tomorrow. Since she would be flying back to Kuching the next day, today was our only chance to see her.

We left home at 11:10am and booked a Grab to The Curve for RM21 (about USD5/EUR4). Unfortunately, the driver cancelled. Worried that the ASEAN Summit was causing traffic chaos, we decided to walk to the Bandaraya LRT station instead.

A Train Hopping Journey

At 11:45am, we boarded an LRT train to Sentul and got off at Titiwangsa. From there, we walked to the MRT station and caught a train to Tun Razak Exchange, then switched to the Kwasa Damansara line. We finally arrived at Mutiara Damansara MRT at 12:45pm. The entire journey cost only RM3.20 (about USD0.80/EUR0.60).

After taking a few photos at the station, we walked into The Curve.

Lunch While Caroline Worked

We’ll share more about the exhibition and our time with Caroline in the next video. Since she needed time to restring our necklaces and bracelet, she suggested we grab lunch first.

We wandered around and settled on Soup Based Kitchen. We ordered:

  • Omelette with Minced Chicken & Rice set
  • Smoked Duck with Rice set

Each set came with soup and Iced Chinese Tea — great value at RM39.80 (about USD9/EUR8).

By 2:15pm, we were done and returned to Caroline’s booth. After finishing our bead shopping at 3:30pm, we said our goodbyes and took a Grab to NU Sentral for RM19 (about USD5/EUR4).

Errands at NU Sentral

We reached NU Sentral at 3:40pm and headed to the Malaysia Airlines office to enquire about rescheduling a future trip. Natasha assisted us and was an absolute delight.

At 4:30pm, we walked to the Monorail station and caught a train to Titiwangsa, getting off at Medan Tuanku. The fare was RM3.20 (about USD0.80/EUR0.70).

Dinner To Go

Before heading home, we stopped by Syed Bistro to take away:

  • Naan (each)
  • Tandoori Chicken
  • drinks

Everything came to RM21.65 (about USD5/EUR4). From there, it was a ten minute walk back home.

What’s Next

With no major trips planned in the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing vlogs of our weekend excursions around the city.

Stay tuned for more little adventures.
