Old Favourite in Melaka
It was our last night in Melaka, and we already knew where we wanted to go. A video we made two years ago had sparked a lot of interest, so we felt it was time to return to this familiar place once more.
Evening Walk to Dinner
We left the homestay at a quarter past six in the evening and did what had become our usual walk. We headed west along Lorong Haji Bachee, then crossed Jalan Bendahara onto Jalan Bunga Raya Pantai. From there, we continued south for a few hundred metres.
Our destination, Lu Yeh Yen, sat quietly on the left side of the street. Nothing about the place had changed, and that was part of its charm.
Dinner at Lu Yeh Yen
We took a short look at the small and simple menu before placing our order. We chose:
- Ginger & Onion Fried Meat
- Lemon Chicken
- Salted Vegetable Soup
- Plain Omelette
- 2 Iced Chinese Teas
Our dinner came to RM50.00 (≈ USD11 / EUR10). By Kuala Lumpur standards, it felt like an absolute bargain.
Packing Up
After a satisfying meal, we made the short walk back to the homestay. The rest of the evening was spent packing our bags and winding down, knowing that we would be driving back to Kuala Lumpur the next day.
It was a comforting way to end our time in Melaka, with good food and familiar streets one last time.
