A Slow Start
Our plan for the final morning in Seremban sounded sensible enough the night before. We were supposed to be up by seven, enjoy breakfast at Arena Coffee House, and be on the road by 7:45am.
Reality had other ideas.
Instead, we happily slept in and only woke up at nine. After taking our time getting ready, we checked out of Arena Premier Hotel at 9:55am and collected our RM100.00 security deposit (≈ USD25 / EUR22).
With our bags loaded into BiBi, we punched in our next destination: Mitsui Outlet Park near KLIA.
An Easy Drive to Mitsui
The drive could not have been easier. We slipped out along Jalan Permata 1, cruised past Felda Sendayan and Labu, followed the open stretches of Route 1266, passed KLIA's quarters, and looped around Jalan Pekeliling before arriving at Mitsui Outlet Park at 10:40am.
Bright, spacious, and laid-back, Mitsui remains one of our favourite places to wander. With outlets such as Skechers, Nike, Adidas, Puma, Hush Puppies, Samsonite, Coach, and Bath & Body Works, together with cafés, snack stalls, and the charming Japan Avenue, it felt like the perfect place to extend our weekend a little longer.
Shopping Time
Naturally, our first stop was Adidas.
Browsing the Originals collection quickly led to a matching purchase: a sweet green his-and-hers T-shirt at RM159.00 each (≈ USD39 / EUR35).
A few doors down, Levi's proved equally successful. After some digging through the racks, I walked away with three pairs of stretchable Levi's 505 jeans. Thanks to a 30% discount, the bill came to a very reasonable RM480.90 (≈ USD118 / EUR109).
Stocking Up at Watsons
Having taken care of our fashion needs, we switched to practical mode and popped into Watsons for a few household and personal-care essentials.
Nothing exciting, perhaps, but just as useful.
A quick browse later, we emerged with our provisions and a bill of RM31.70 (≈ USD8 / EUR7).
Conveyor-Belt Lunch
By then, lunchtime was approaching.
With our shopping bags getting heavier and our stomachs getting louder, we headed into Sushi King for a relaxed Japanese lunch.
Rather than ordering from a menu, we simply picked our favourite dishes straight from the conveyor belt as they rolled by. One plate became several, and before long our table was covered with sushi, side dishes, and drinks.
Our leisurely lunch came to RM54.40 (≈ USD13 / EUR12) including beverages.
One Last Takeaway
Before leaving Mitsui, we made one final stop at Burger King for dinner provisions back home.
We picked up a Kongsi B set comprising one Spicy Tendercrisp™, one BK Chick'N Crisp®, one Medium Onion Rings, one Cheesy Fries, and two Medium Soft Drinks for RM39.90 (≈ USD10 / EUR9).
Unfortunately, this was also when we discovered that the Osmo Nano had somehow been switched to timelapse mode after Sushi King. As a result, all footage recorded afterwards was unusable.
It was frustrating, but also the sort of travel mishap that eventually becomes a funny story.
Homeward Bound
With our shopping complete and dinner packed away, we returned to BiBi and began the journey home.
The drive felt calm and familiar. We eased out of Mitsui Outlet Park, joined the MEX Highway, and watched Kuala Lumpur gradually rise into view. Before long, we rolled into Menara City One carrying that quiet feeling of a simple weekend well spent.
In just over a day, we had enjoyed Yee Kee Beef Noodles, a relaxing spa session, coffee and cake at Apacaba Coffee, a memorable seafood dinner at Seremban Yesoon Seafood Crab Restaurant, a comfortable stay at Arena Premier Hotel, some successful outlet shopping, and one final conveyor-belt sushi lunch before heading home.
Not bad for a getaway just an hour away.
Stay tuned for our upcoming series of videos as we return to my hometown and begin a brand-new adventure!
