An Afternoon Branch Visit

After lunch at the Lobby Café, we headed back to the room. I took a quick shower, changed into office wear, and left the hotel at 3:30pm. I hailed a Grab car for RM7 (about USD2/EUR1) and made my way to the local branch office.

I was welcomed by the branch head and waited until the last customer was served before giving my briefing on the new internal core system scheduled to go live at the end of the year. The session went smoothly, and as always, I appreciated the chance to meet my counterparts here.

When we wrapped up, I said my goodbyes and took another RM7 Grab ride back to the hotel to rest.

Dinner and Laundry

By dinnertime, we didn’t feel adventurous, so we kept things simple and walked to Restoran Khas just outside the hotel on Jalan Sultanah Zainab. Before eating, we dropped a load of laundry at Fafa Laundry 2, only a few doors away.

At Restoran Khas, after six days of east coast flavours, we decided to switch things up and ordered Chinese dishes:

Minced Meat in Tofu
Sweet & Sour Meat
Large Omelette
Salted Vegetable Soup
2 Iced Chinese Tea (plus 2 packed to go)

The total came to RM62 (about USD15/EUR13). Midway through dinner, I dashed over to move our laundry from the washer to the dryer.

A Rainy End to the Night

After finishing our meal, we returned to Fafa Laundry 2 to collect our clothes. A sudden downpour kept us waiting for a while before we could walk back to the hotel. Once the rain eased, we made our way back and settled in for what we hoped would be an early night.

Looking Ahead

Tomorrow we begin the long ten hour drive back to Kuala Lumpur at the crack of dawn.
