Returning to the Road
We came back to Kuala Lumpur yesterday afternoon after a seven day trip along the east coast states of Terengganu and Kelantan. Even though we had barely rested for twenty four hours, we were already packing again. This time we were heading just an hour northeast, and Brendan joined us for the short getaway.
Leaving Home Early
We left our home at eight in the morning and went down to the parking level, where BiBi was still resting after yesterday’s long drive. We loaded our bags, set the GPS, and aimed for Leng’s Cafe in Bukit Tinggi.
The drive was smooth and quiet, which surprised us since it was a public holiday and the start of a three day weekend. In forty five minutes we reached the small hilltop hamlet of Bukit Tinggi.
Breakfast at Leng’s Café
Leng’s Cafe sat on a hill across from The Enclave condo, and it seemed like most of its customers came from there. We looked through the menu and ordered:
- Western Breakfast with Croissant
- Western Breakfast with Toast
- Black Pepper Chicken Chop
- iced Ribena Lemon Soda
- iced Ginger Lemon
- hot Mocha
Since check in at our resort would only be at 3:00pm, we decided to stay longer and added:
- French Fries
- Century Egg Salad
- hot Caramel Macchiato
- iced Fresh Lemongrass Tea
- Coca Cola
The total came to RM147 (about USD35 / EUR30). We spent the next hour enjoying the cool air and peaceful view before leaving at 10:30am.
Heading to Colmar Tropicale
Half an hour later we arrived at Colmar Tropicale, the “French” style resort in the hills. Stay tuned as we check in and explore this little slice of Europe in Malaysia.
