We're Back
We picked you up again very late in the evening, after napping for a few hours and waking up at 8:00pm. We left the hotel half an hour later, headed north along Jalan Penang, then turned left onto Lebuh Leith.
We continued on and eventually settled on the touristy but beloved Red Garden Food Paradise. It’s not a place for locals, but we absolutely love it — the noise, the bustle, the slightly chaotic charm. Yes, the prices are inflated, but Red Garden more than makes up for it with its style and character.
Dinner at Red Garden
After some deliberation, we ordered:
- Vietnamese Spring Rolls — RM16.00
- Wat Tan Hor Fun — RM9.00
- Grilled Lamb — RM38.00
- Cheesy Fries — RM15.00
- German Sausages — RM22.00
- Double Ambra Juice — RM7.00
- Coca Cola — RM4.00
- Large Heineken — RM21.00
Our dinner came to RM132.00 (≈ USD30/EUR28).
We were entertained by a troupe of singers who started off rather poorly with English songs, but improved dramatically once they switched to their bread and butter Cantonese and Mandarin tunes.
We added three slices of cake for RM45.00 (≈ USD/EUR10) before leaving.
Walking It Off
To work off the extra calories, we walked west along Lebuh Leith, crossed Jalan Penang, and then realised we hadn’t taken a thumbnail photo of the food court. So we doubled back, snapped what we needed, and continued northeast along Jalan Penang before turning right onto Jalan Hutton.
A few minutes later, we were back at the hotel.
