PEN Day 1 │ Christmas Eve • To Choux Choux and Back!

Christmas Eve Feast

We picked you up again in the evening after checking into our hotel apartment.

We had made a reservation with Kelvin months in advance, planning to share our Christmas Eve dinner with Prem, Brendan’s old varsity mate. Unfortunately, Prem was called away for an urgent family matter at the last minute, so it would just be the three of us dining at Choux Choux.

We hailed a Grab for RM5.00 (≈ USD/EUR1) and arrived at 6:45pm.

Kelvin and the rest of the bubbly Choux Choux crew welcomed us warmly. When he found out our party was short by one person, Kelvin immediately adjusted our order without us even asking — thoughtful as always.

Our Christmas Eve feast consisted of:

  • Phenomenal Iberico BBQ Ribs
  • Organic Rotisserie Chicken
  • Lamb Shoulder Braise
  • 1 French Onion Soup
  • 2 Truffle Mushroom Soup
  • Green Apple Juice
  • Lemonade
  • 3 Coca Cola
  • 2 Baileys Irish Cream

The meal came to RM680.90 (≈ USD152/EUR146), a hefty price but absolutely worth it. It’s not often we splurge, and this was a feast we thoroughly enjoyed.

We settled the bill and wished Kelvin and his merry crew a very Merry Christmas before making the one kilometre walk back to Jalan Hutton.
