Sabahan Cuisine in the Clouds
We met you again after a short nap and realised it was already six in the evening. We did not feel like driving, so we decided to keep things simple and walked next door to Lily Cottage & Kitchen for an early dinner.
Dining with a View
We were immediately drawn to the terrace, which offered a wide and beautiful view of the valley below. Despite the cold air, we chose to dine outdoors, enjoying the rare feeling of having dinner surrounded by clouds.
A Taste of Sabah
After looking through the menu, we noticed a signature local offering called K’Dusun Favourite – The Farmer’s Choice. Cat and we decided to go for Set A “Kampungku” (My Village), which was meant for two people and included:
- Brown rice
- Local vegetables
- Chicken turmeric
- Fried fish (Ikan Basung)
- Soup
- Fruits
- Sabah tea for two
Brendan chose something different and ordered:
- Queen Burger with double meat, cheese, egg, and fries
- Coca Cola
One of us also added a hot Nescafe to take away.
Dinner at Sunset
Our dinner in the clouds came to RM84.00 (≈ USD18/EUR16), which felt like an absolute bargain. The food was hearty, the flavours were local and comforting, and the sunset view made the experience even more special.
With full stomachs and an early start planned for the next day, we headed back to the resort and turned in for the night.
Stay tuned for our next video as we headed out to explore Kundasang town the following morning.
