KCH Day 5 │ KUCHING Water Front: Tower Market • Darul Hana Bridge)

Waterfront — A Fitting Final Night

Our penultimate day in Kuching, and we spent the afternoon indoors. I worked on our footage before taking a much needed hour’s nap.

We left Adelyn’s Airbnb at 7:00pm. Brendan had left earlier to meet his varsity debate club buddies at a smoke house in Tabuan Jaya.

We hailed a Grab for RM7.00 (≈ USD/EUR2) and headed to the Open Air Market food stalls near the riverfront.

Hawker Dinner by the River

We ordered a spread of local favourites:

  • Three Chwee Kueh (Steamed Rice Cakes) — RM1.00 each
  • Three Sio Bee (Minced Pork Parcels) — RM1.00 each
  • Two bowls Lai Ci Kang (Sweet Lotus Seed Soup) — RM4.00 each
  • Two bowls Red Kolo Mee — RM6.00 each
  • Gula Apong Ice Cream — RM3.50

Our simple hawker dinner came to RM29.50 (≈ USD/EUR6).

Light, comforting, and very Kuching.

Walking the Waterfront

After dinner, we walked to the Kuching Waterfront and made our way across the Darul Hana Bridge, taking photos of the beautifully illuminated surroundings.

We reached the end of the bridge, then doubled back just in time to capture footage of the Darul Hana Musical Fountain — always a magical sight.

Be sure to catch our next videos on:

Heading Home

We continued strolling along the riverfront before hailing another Grab — again RM7.00 (≈ USD/EUR2) — back to Adelyn’s Airbnb.

It was a fitting end to our last night in Kuching.

Tomorrow, we leave on a jet plane 😔
