PPV Offsite │ Pavilion Bukit Jalil • Don't Hesitate, Vaccinate!

Booster Day Again!

A Little Background

I received my first and second Covid 19 vaccine shots on 13 June 2021 and 4 July 2021. Then the unthinkable happened — Cat and I tested positive for Covid 19 on 26 November 2021, and it was the Delta variant.

After a long recovery, we both received our first booster on 26 January 2022. Exactly six months later, I received an appointment for my second booster, scheduled today at 12:00pm at the Offsite PPV Centre, Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Cat, however, had not received any invitation.

Getting to Pavilion Bukit Jalil

We left our apartment at 9:30am and walked to the Bandaraya LRT station. We caught a train on the Putra Heights Line, and about half an hour later arrived at Awan Besar LRT. From there, we hopped onto the free double decker shuttle bus to Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

Once inside the mall, we headed down to Level 1 in search of breakfast. We settled on Nasi Lemak at our favourite stall, Bungkus Kaw Kaw.

The Booster Surprise

After breakfast, we took the elevator up to Level 5 to look for the offsite vaccination centre. We found it quickly, and I sat down to register with the staff member on duty.

I casually asked if Cat could receive her booster here too, even though she had no appointment. To our surprise, the kind staff member said yes. After a few minutes of adjusting her MySejahtera app, he managed to book her in on the spot.

We were then guided to the cubicles, received our booster shots smoothly, and moved to the final station where our apps were updated.

And just like that — we were done. No waiting, no fuss. The entire process took less than ten minutes. Truly a well oiled system.

For Those Planning a Visit

We learned that this Offsite PPV accepts walk ins for anyone who received their first booster at least six months ago, regardless of age. We will probably ask Brendan to come here soon for his second booster as well.

Side Effects

The next day, I had a splitting headache, chills, fever, and body aches — but only for one day. Cat only had a stiff, sore arm. For anyone still unsure, please consider getting your booster. A little discomfort now gives long term protection.

Today’s Transport Costs

  • LRT Bandaraya → Awan Besar: RM3.50 (≈ USD/EUR0.80)
  • LRT Awan Besar → Bandaraya: RM3.50 (≈ USD/EUR0.80)

A Small Reminder

While masks are now optional outdoors, they are still mandatory indoors. Stay safe and considerate.
