Melaka Trip Day 1 — Back at Mahkota
About half an hour after lunch at the Air Keroh R&R, we finally arrived at our Airbnb in Melaka town.
The place might sound familiar depending on where you searched—it went by a few names:
- Mahkota Hotel
- Mahkota Residence
- Costa Mahkota Condo
But to us, it was something more than just a place to stay.
A Walk Down Memory Lane
This building held a special place in our hearts.
About 15 years ago, I had been posted to Melaka for work and stayed here for an entire month when the hotel had just opened. It was December, during the school holidays—and Brendan, still a young boy then, spent as much time as he could at the swimming pool.
Those were simple, happy days.
Back Again… Different, Yet the Same
Fast forward 15 years, and here we were again. The Mahkota Hotel itself had not survived the pandemic, but the serviced apartments remained, and in many ways, they had found new life.
This time, we stayed in a unit hosted by Victor, an Airbnb Superhost who truly lived up to the title.
Our Home for the Next Three Days
Located on the 9th floor of Wing 3, Lotus Tower, the apartment had been thoughtfully renovated into a modern, cosy space.
It had everything we needed:
- Clean, comfortable living areas
- Stylish furnishings
- And most importantly—a sense of ease and home
We felt settled almost immediately.
A Strong Recommendation
We’ll let the videos show you the finer details, but if you’re planning a trip to Melaka, we would highly recommend checking out Victor’s listings.
He had a wide portfolio of well maintained units, and our experience with this stay left us more than satisfied.
Familiar Yet New
Coming back here after so many years felt both familiar and new.
The place had changed. We had changed. But the feeling of being here again—that was something special.
Stay tuned—Melaka adventures continue! 🏡✨
